Enquiring Minds Want To Know

. .

Walking the red carpet at the Oscars, hosting your own television show or having an Emmy on your mantle doesn’t automatically mean you know what you’re talking about or that you’re an expert. . .as some in show business pretend to be.

My Daddy taught me years ago, that an expert is somebody fifteen miles out of town with a briefcase or it could be a drip under pressure.

Compassionate conversation even when it’s stained with tears doesn’t make you a competent counselor or an expert.

Jumping up and down or dancing and shouting on the set of a TV show doesn’t make someone the pinnacle of wisdom.

Proverbs 19:2 in the New Century Version says:

“Enthusiasm without knowledge is not good. If you act too quickly, you might make a mistake.”

I’m more interested in what the Word of God says than Dr. Phil or Dr Oz or anybody else.

“The View” I want of life. . .will never come from three bickering ladies on a television show but through the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

I’m reminded of Proverbs 13:20 in The Living Bible says:

“Become wise by walking with the wise; hang out with fools and watch your life fall to pieces.”

I’d rather take the advice of a saint who spends time talking to God every day than the latest celebrity on the cover of People or the National Enquirer.

Besides seeking wisdom from God is much more profitable.

Hebrews 11:6 in the New Living Translation says:

“It is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.”

If your mind is inquiring. . .you’ll find your answers in the Word of God.
