7 Keys To Ever-Increasing Faith

. .

When I was dating my fine wife Bev. . .there was a popular song by Diana Ross entitled “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”

“If you need me, call me

No matter where you are

No matter how far

Just call my name

I'll be there in a hurry

On that you can depend and never worry”

The lyrics to the chorus are:

“Ain't no mountain high enough

Ain't no valley low enough

Ain't no river wild enough

To keep me from you”

That was my attitude when I was courting my wife. . .and it’s how I feel about being in the presence of the Lord and truthfully, how He feels about us.

The Apostle Paul in Romans 8:38-39 states:

“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

No one. . .no thing. . .no mountain. . .nothing can keep me. . .you. . .us from Our Lord or Him from us.

Our faith ushers us into His presence.

Now we’re going to share seven keys that will manifest devil-chasing, debt-cancelling, bondage-breaking, yoke-destroying, mountain-moving, world-changing, wealth-accumulating and ever-increasing faith in your life.

1.      Expand your boundaries. . .geographically and mentally.

Do you believe that Acts 10:34 is the whole truth and nothing but the truth?

“Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons.”

Are you confident beyond a shadow of a doubt that your Heavenly Father is no respecter of persons. . . what He’s done for one believer. . .He will do for you?

I trust your answer would be an emphatic “YES.”  Truth be told. . .anyone who doubts Acts 10:34 may well doubt other parts of the scriptures as well.

If you know God is no respecter of persons, then you know that what He did for Jabez in 1 Chronicles 4:9-10 (New Living Translation) He wants to do for you.

“There was a man named Jabez who was more honorable than any of his brothers. His mother named him Jabez because his birth had been so painful. 10 He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!” And God granted him his request.”

God wants to expand your territory. . .enlarge your borders. . .move you from where you are to a total higher level of success in and through Him.

He wants to expand the boundaries of your physical sphere of influence, but He also wants to expand your mental capacity as well.

Psalm 119:32 in the New Living Translation says:

“I will pursue your commands, for you expand my understanding.”

Now let’s go a little further. . .if you’ve read my book “Borders Without Limitations” you know the real meaning of Proverbs 4:23 which says:

“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

According to Strong’s Concordance the Hebrew word for issues is (tote sa uff) tō·tsä·ä (H8444) is a real estate term and it means:

“borders, the parameters”

Your heart sets the borders of your life.

The outside circumstances don’t set the borders of your life; it’s what’s in your heart that sets the boundaries or determines the course of your life.

The New Living Translation of Proverbs 4:23 says:

“Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.”

Consider this thought. . .when you are meditating on a Rhema revelation from the Word of God. . .then you are expanding the borders of your life.

On the other hand. . .if you’re not meditating in the Word. . .then your borders are set where you’re are. . .and doing what you’re doing. . .is where you will stay.

When you start talking about the promises of God. . .His promises. . .what the Word offers you. . .the possibilities of your life. . .the things you desire will soon become a reality. . .as you expand the borders of your life.

There’s so much more in this book. . .if you don’t own it. . .go to haroldherring.com and order it from our store.

2.      Elevate your conversation to a higher spiritual and success level.

Eliminate the words. . .quit, can’t, try, failure, negative and compromise. . .from your vocabulary.

Guard your heart. . .for out of the abundance of it. . .the mouth will speak.

I have four life-changing words for you.

Words that should direct your every conversation.

Words that will prevent most misunderstandings.

Words that will always allow you to put your best foot forward.

Words that will greatly enhance the possibilities for success in your life.

Are you ready for those four words?

THINK   BEFORE   YOU   SPEAK.

Ephesians 4:29 in the Amplified Bible says:

“Let no foul or polluting language, nor evil word nor unwholesome or worthless talk [ever] come out of your mouth, but only such [speech] as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God's favor) to those who hear it.”

Speak the pure, the powerful and the positive from the Word of God over every person and situation that you deal with.

Too often we try to bring God down to our way of thinking and speaking as opposed to elevating ourselves to His way of thinking and speaking.

3.      Expect divine appointments and supernatural connections every day.

As you pursue your goals. . .raise your level of expectation for divine appointments and supernatural connections. . .to people who God can use to get you from where you are to where He wants you to be.

God can bring the right person into your life. . .just like that.

1 Samuel 9:15-16 in the Message Bible says:

“The very day before, God had confided in Samuel, "This time tomorrow, I'm sending a man from the land of Benjamin to meet you. You're to anoint him as prince over my people Israel. He will free my people from Philistine oppression. Yes, I know all about their hard circumstances. I've heard their cries for help."

Saul was a donkey herder until he had a divine appointment.  Be vigilant. . .be watchful. . .be expectant. . .but never be judgmental about who or how God chooses to be your supernatural connection.

If you want to start a business, spend time with people who have expertise in your new field of endeavor.  Ask their opinions. . .seek their advice. . .don’t tell them your secrets. . .but show yourself friendly.

Divine appointments and supernatural connections manifest as the irresistible charm of Jesus flows through you giving you favor in every conversation.

Even in the midst of difficult circumstances. . .the supernatural favor of God will flow through you.

Genesis 39:21 says:

“But the Lord was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.”

While most believers will never find themselves confined in a prison with guards and tungsten steel wire fences. . .they may feel incarcerated by their surroundings. . .feeling that freedom. . .financial or otherwise. . .is just an elusive dream.

No matter what circumstances you’re facing. . .God can move you from the prison to the palace. . .as His irresistible charm flows through you to change hearts and attitudes toward you.

One more thing and this is very important. . .every night before you go to sleep. . .your confession for the next day should include this.

“Father, I thank you that the irresistible charm of Jesus will flow through me giving me supernatural favor with every co-worker, supervisor. . .and yes, with every person who can help me facilitate my goals for this year and my calling in life.  In the strong name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.”

4.      Develop a spiritual awareness of who you’re working for and how that relates to your goals.

What have you done today. . .this week. . .this month. . .this year to increase your value as an employee to your current employer?

If your answer to that question in any way contains anything negative about your current employer, then you will never advance beyond where you are because you have the wrong perspective.

First, you should get Colossians 3:17, 23 down in your spirit.

17And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.”

23And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”

Second, you must realize that everything you do on the job. . .you are doing as unto the Lord.  He’s the one who will cover your employee evaluation.

Third, you must give your job to God. . .so He can deal with difficult supervisors and a lack of promotions, bonuses or benefits.

Talking about your supervisors or employers. . .will not change them.  In fact, it will only make your situation worse because you’re focusing on the negatives.  Give everything to God and allow Him to bring the necessary changes in them and, yes, in you.

Once you realize you’re working for the Lord. . .you will find a new desire for excellence in all your hands find to do.

When you are faithful where you are. . .then He will open other opportunities beyond your wildest dreams.

5.      Energize your faith for a job or better job with action.

1.      What can I do today to increase my value in the marketplace by sharpening my skill set?  This is a long list. . .read books and web postings on your chosen career field, attend workshops and conferences. . .take a course at the local community college. . . spend time with mentors. . .listen to CDs or watch DVDs that will motivate you in areas where you need to improve your problem-solving capabilities.

2.      Who should I call?  Make a list of people you think can help increase your aptitude and attitude in the marketplace.  Spend time with them.  Create a network of friends (the positive kind) who can help you.  If you’re a woman. . .talk with your hairdresser. . .you’d be amazed at what and who they know.  If you’re a man. . .talk with people you meet at family sporting events.

Always be looking for divine connections.

3.      Use the 7/11 formula for success.  Pray seven days a week for at least eleven minutes each time.  Pray for divine appointments, increased insight, problem-solving abilities and supernatural favor.

4.      Never go on an interview without praying.  Ask God to anoint your lips with words that need to be spoken and the wisdom to know when not to speak and/or what not to say.  Ask Him for favor in every interview.

And remember, always dress for the job you want. . .not the one you no longer have.

5.      Work on your resume.  Many potential employers will see your resume before they ever see you.  So you need to think about what your resume is saying about you that sets you apart from others.  If you need insights and/or guidelines on preparing a proper resume. . .just give me a call.

6.      Get up at your normal time….dress for work. . .do the things you would normally do when you were still on the job.  Changing your routine can be counter-productive and cause a person to become mentally, physically and even spiritually lethargic.

7.      Visit appropriate websites…job placement sites. . .staffing sites. . .classified ad listings in newspapers.  Do not surf the internet and drift into a cyber-daze until you’ve taken care of business.

One more word.  Do not allow yourself to drift into becoming a professional Facebook poster or a Twitter Tweet master. There is nothing wrong with either of these social media sites unless you spend hours wasting time.  Get in. . .post. . .and get out. Or set a timer and then get out when it goes off.

Create a confession for the kind of job you want.  “Heavenly Father, I thank you that I have the mind of Christ and it’s functioning fully and freely in me today.  I thank you that I will learn everything I need to know this day to sharpen my skills.  I thank you for divine connections and supernatural appointments.  I thank you that I’m working with your favor.  Father, I take dominion and authority over every trick, trap, lie, deception and wile of the enemy and that no weapon formed against me, my family, our health, our finances and the job you’ve got picked out for me. . .will prosper.  Thank you, Father, for your love for me, hearing my prayers and honoring this confession of mine.  In the strong name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.”

Get ready to enjoy the benefits of a good or even better job.

Ecclesiastes 2:24 says:

“There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God.”

Ecclesiastes 3:13 says:

“And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.”

6.      Establish family time that is written in stone.

Ecclesiastes 11:9 in The Living Bible says that if you wait for perfect conditions, you’ll never get anything done.

There should be some absolutes in your life. . .first, your time with God is immoveable.  Second, create real value and lasting memories with your family time.

When I come home for dinner. . .my cell phone is placed on a table and I rarely, if ever, answer it during dinner.  We instructed our daughters that there’s no texting during our meals.  That may seem like a little thing. . .but understand that each of them send and/or receive between 8 and 11,000 text messages a month.

When you’re with your family. . .be with your family.

Truthfully, I’m one of the busiest people I’ve ever met.  I tell folks that I doze but I never close.

However, on family vacations, I generally get on my computer early in the morning and late at night. . .the rest of the time. . .I’m a good tourist. . .but a better Daddy and Husband.

7.      Energize your faith.

How do you energize your faith?  It’s simple. . .the Word of God and time in His presence.  That’s it pure and simple. . .however, I feel impressed to share some scriptures 7 pointers with you.

Galatians 5:6 in the Amplified Bible says:

“For [if we are] in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith activated and energized and expressed and working through love.”

Here are seven ways to energize your faith on a regular basis.

First, begin the day with Him.

Proverbs 8:17 says:

“I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.”

Second, get the Word of God deeply into your innermost being.

Matthew 12:34 in the Amplified Bible says:

“…For out of the fullness (the overflow, the superabundance) of the heart the mouth speaks.”

There is an old saying, “what you feed grows, what you starve dies.”  It’s important that you put the Word in . . . so that the Word will come out when you need it.

Third, speak only the pure, the powerful and the positive from the Word of God even in the midst of adversity and trial.

When you speak right things. . .you not only bless those around you. . .you are loosing powerful words in the spirit realm.

Fourth, spend as much time as possible with people of like precious faith.

Proverbs 13:20 in the Message Bible says:

“Become wise by walking with the wise; hang out with fools and watch your life fall to pieces.”

Your attitude, speech and behavior are directly affected by the people you associate with . . . particularly the friends you choose.

Make a determined effort to get around those who can exhort, encourage, edify, build you up and lift you up.

Fifth, overcome attacks of the enemy by testifying of the things God is doing in and through your life.

Revelation 12:11 says:

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

Sixth, keep your eyes off your circumstances and on the Word of God.

Psalm 34:6-7 in the Message Bible says:

“When I was desperate, I called out, and God got me out of a tight spot. God's angel sets up a circle of protection around us while we pray.”

Keep your eyes on the Lord and not on the net.

Psalm 25:15 in the Amplified Bibles says:

My eyes are ever toward the Lord, for He will pluck my feet out of the net.”

Seventh, never lose sight of your goals or His promises to you.

Philippians 3:15-16 in the Message Bible says:

“So let's keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you'll see it yet! Now that we're on the right track, let's stay on it.”

Child of God, get a hold of these seven ways to energize your faith.

It’s time for everyone hearing our voices to maximize devil-chasing, debt-cancelling, bondage-breaking, yoke-destroying, mountain-moving, world-changing and wealth-accumulating faith.

It’s yours. . .just for the believing.
