Answering The Right Question Meets Every Need

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in RichThoughts

One of my favorite teachings is entitled “Don’t Be Hypnotized By The Appearance of Lack.”

Matthew 14:15 in the New Living Translation says:

“That evening the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away so they can go to the villages and buy food for themselves.”

The disciples brought Jesus a negative report.

Now get a picture of this…those closest to Jesus . . . those who had seen Him heal blinded eyes, restore lame limbs, and work mighty miracles. . .those closest to Him were hypnotized by the appearance of lack.

Previously Unknown Opportunities And Unused Potential

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in Life Strategies

Perhaps our biggest regret is not for things we have done but rather for the things we’ve failed to do. . .or didn’t even try.

Harriet Beecher Stowe, the author of Uncle Tom’s Cabin once said:

“The bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid and deeds left undone.”

The Lord keeps directing me to talk about discovering previously unknown opportunities and tapping into previously unused potential.

There’s a reason why God wants us tapping into what we’ve never utilized or maximized.

God created us. . .He knows the potential living within us. . .He knows what we’re capable of. . .He knows the destiny awaiting us. . .if we seize the moment.

God also knows the best way to experience previously unknown opportunities is to expect them.

7 Keys To Receiving At Just The Right Time

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in RichThoughts

Have you ever had something come through at just the right time to meet a specific need?

I know we have. . .

I remember once when our bookkeeper made a mistake which resulted in our owing $14,000 in taxes. . .which we discovered a few days before it had to be paid.  And frankly, at the time we didn’t have that amount of cash readily available.

We prayed and moved on . . . believing God would provide.

I was speaking that next Sunday at a church in southern California. . .it was an incredible service.

Can you imagine my surprise when the Pastor handed me a check for $16,000 for preaching a one-hour Sunday morning service?

Here are the Top 5 Rich Thoughts Nuggets of the week.

  5.  Your commitment and enthusiasm for the Lord. . .will cause you to be noticed in heaven by God Himself.

  4.  Poverty steals more than your money...it robs you of your dreams, your future, your hope and your ability to bless those you love.

  2.  Our words have consequences. Our faith is strengthened or weakened by the words we speak.

7 Turning Points To Success

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in RichThoughts

Are you at a turning point in your life?

Do you need to change from living in lack to walking in abundance?

Do you need to experience the healing touch of Jehovah Rapha?

Do you need to see your long-lost family members being born-again and proclaiming Jesus as the Lord of their lives?

Are you ready to receive your turning point?

1 Thessalonians 1:9 in The Living Bible says:

“For they keep telling us about the wonderful welcome you gave us, and how you turned away from your idols to God so that now the living and true God only is your Master.”

People who experience turning points. . .generally do so because of a life-changing circumstance (loss of a job, sickness etc.) or a catastrophic event that happens around them.  Unfortunately, it normally takes adversity for us to have an ear to hear God about turning our lives around.

Reaching a turning point in our lives. . .normally involves three things.

7 Stupid Things...Spiritually Thinking

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in RichThoughts

If you are a born-again, church attending, Bible-reading believer there are certain things you should know…if you don’t already know.

If you’ve heard certain truth but are not living that truth. . .then you’ve made a conscious decision to be stupid.

For the record, the definition of stupid is knowing what to do or believe but not doing it.

Here are seven stupid things…spiritually speaking.

First, doing the same thing over and over but expecting a different result.

We can’t keep living in the past. . .while expecting our future to be better.

No question about it…we must release to the past to seek a better future.  Remember, these two words. . .release and seek.

Proverbs 29:18 in the Amplified Bible says:

It Fell Out Of Your Pocket

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in Life Strategies

A man who made his yearly visit to the church began to get worried as the offering plate began to circulate through the room. He fidgeted and fumbled and finally took a dollar bill out of his pocket.

Just before the offering plate passed by he was tapped on the shoulder by the man behind him. The man leaned forward and handed him a $20 bill.

Figuring it was the custom of the church he happily threw in the $20 bill. He turned and thanked the man for such a kind gesture.

The man behind replied, “You are so welcome, it fell out of your pocket!”

I love that story.

If you are ever tempted to hold back your giving. . .remember the promises that God gives to those who faithfully and cheerfully give.

There's Nobody Like You

I’ve often said that. . .

I’m not Kenneth Copeland. . .though I have great admiration for him.

I’m not Creflo Dollar. . .though I recognize his powerful anointing.

I’m not Jesse DuPlantis. . .though I do have a pretty good sense of humor.

I’m not Joel Osteen. . .thought I one of the most positive people you’ll ever meet.

I’m not Dr. Mike Murdock. . .though I am wise through the wisdom of the Word.

I’m not Brother John Avanzini. . .though I’m anointed to teach people how to live debt free.

I’m not any of these men. . .nor do I want to be. . .I just want to be me and a better me every day.

What Kind Of Giver Are You?

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in RichThoughts

Martin Luther once said:

“People go through three conversions in their Christian faith: their head, their heart, and their pocketbook – unfortunately, not all at the same time!”

However, there is a definite progression for those who seek the Lord and honor him with their giving.

Several years ago, my fine wife Bev and I conducted a weekend seminar at the Church For All Nations in Porte Alegre, Brazil.

The church meets in a movie theater and the stage is five feet above the auditorium floor.  The Friday night service was fabulous. . .people were set free from the bondage of debt and lack.  There was weeping and shouting. . .it was awesome.

We didn’t think it could get any better. . .until Saturday night.

As I began speaking people spontaneously started walking and then running to the stage where they began laying and throwing money and other valuables at my feet.

I stopped preaching and started laying hands on each person and spoke a blessing over them.
