Have you ever hesitated…procrastinated about an assignment because it seemed such a mammoth undertaking?
1 Chronicles 28:20 in The Living Bible says:
“Be strong and courageous and get to work. Don't be frightened by the size of the task, for the Lord my God is with you; He will not forsake you. He will see to it that everything is finished correctly."
Here are seven practical things you can do when you feel frightened by the size of any task.
First, ask yourself what makes the task appear to be frightening. Then write down the task and how you can overcome any obstacles.
Second, create a timeline for completion of the task.
Third, create momentum by accomplishing as many of the easier tasks as you can in 30 minutes.
Fourth, mark things off your list as they’re completed…it will give you a sense of satisfaction and progress.
Fifth, control the environment where you’re thinking and working. . .as much as you can.
Sixth, spend 10 minutes every hour. . .getting up, walking around and refreshing your body and mind.
Seventh, praise God for every accomplishment.
Mark 9:23 in God’s WORD Translation says:
“Jesus said to him, “As far as possibilities go, everything is possible for the person who believes.”
Matthew 17:20 in God’s WORD Translation says:
“He told them, “Because you have so little faith. I can guarantee this truth: If your faith is the size of a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
