About 4:30 this morning God stirred a question in me. . .for you. I’ll get to it in just a few minutes. . .but first.
When God wants to get something done. . .He gives the assignment to one person.
One person committed to a goal. . .His goal. . .their goals is all God needs to change the world.
You may be thinking right now that you do not have what it takes to change the world.
If you entertain those kind of thoughts. . .I want you to know that I think you’re wrong. The word of God says you’re wrong. But, most importantly, God thinks you’re wrong.
Every person on planet earth has an assignment unique to them. Yes, that means YOU.
If nothing else, you and God can change your world and your destiny when you make the Word of God your daily guide.
Throughout recorded history, God has changed the world using one person. He has done it many times before. . .and as surely as night follows day. . .He will do it again.
For instance. . .
When He wanted to give the children of Israel a deliverer He gave the assignment to Moses.
When He wanted to help the children of Israel enter the Promised Land. . .He gave the job to Joshua.
When He wanted to teach a message of faithfulness and honor. . .He gave the appointment to Ruth.
When He wanted to show that anybody. . .even someone who had no confidence in himself could defeat the Midianites. . .He picked Gideon.
When He wanted to prevent the Jews from being exterminated . . .He gave the challenge to Esther.
When He wanted to give every person breathing on planet earth the opportunity for an abundant life now and eternal life later. . .He asked Jesus, His only begotten Son.
I know there are a few of you on this call who are thinking to themselves. . .that’s all well and true. . .but, He can’t use me because I’ve messed up.
Please hear and understand what I’m about to say.
You could be a drunk, long-haired, abused, lying, worried, barren, bankrupt, fearful, naked, suicidal, stuttering, murderous, religious, adulterous widowed womanizer who can’t stay awake while living in sin, fleeing from God eating bugs.
Does this description sound like somebody God can use?
The next time you feel like GOD can't use you, just remember...
Noah was found drunk. . .but He followed God’s instructions and changed human history.
Abraham was very, very old. . .but He believed that God was not a man that He should lie when He made Abraham the promise of a son.
Sarah was barren. . .but she knew. . .even with a lapse of judgment. . .that God would honor His Word.
Jacob was a liar who reaped what he sowed. . .but God used him to raise a young son. . .who would be used to save his people from starvation and certain death.
Joseph was abused by his brothers, betrayed by his employer and forgotten by those he helped. . .BUT GOD used him as him as a deliverer for his family and the nation of Israel.
Moses had a stuttering problem. . .but God used him to speak for a nation.
Gideon was afraid. . .BUT GOD gave him everything he needed to become “a mighty man of valor.”
Samson had long hair and was a womanizer. . .but God used him to bring down the enemies of Israel.
Rahab was a prostitute. . .but God used her to facilitate His plan for giving Israel the Promised Land. . and rewarded her by becoming a part of the lineage of Jesus.
Jeremiah and Timothy were too young to suit some folks. . .BUT THEIR GOD used them to speak to their generations.
David had an affair and became a murderer. . .BUT GOD chose Him to build a kingdom and assemble everything needed to build His temple.
Elijah was suicidal. . .but God used Him for many mighty miracles.
Isaiah preached naked. . .but God used Him to speak powerfully to his people.
Jonah ran from God. . .but God used Him to bring a nation to repentance.
Naomi was a widow. . .but God used her to help her daughter-in-law and ultimately herself.
Job went bankrupt. . .but God gave him double for his trouble.
John the Baptist ate bugs. . .but people flocked to hear him preach.
Peter denied Jesus. . .but became the rock on which Christ built His church.
The Disciples fell asleep while praying. . .but God used them in spreading the gospel, writing books and being world changers.
Martha worried about everything. . .but she was of value to our Savior and His teachings.
The Samaritan woman was several times divorced and living in sin. . .but Jesus used her to bring her town to Christ.
Zaccheus was too small. . .but God used him to give the first income tax refund.
Paul was steeped in religious and tradition . . . but God saw in him the potential to change the course of human history.
Lazarus was dead. . .but Jesus brought life into a seemingly hopeless situation.
Obviously, I could continue with this list but I think you’re getting the point. . . when God wants something done. . .He gives the job to one person to do regardless of what they’ve done or not done in their past.
So the question….I felt stirred to ask you this morning….and it’s a question… you need to ask yourself this and every day is:
“Are you the one?”
Let me ask it again. . .Are you the one?
Are you the one that is available to God. . .to fulfill His plan to reach one person, one city, one nation, bring about one event that will change all mankind.
This teaching is about one person. . .YOU. . .the one person that God is ready to use. Make no mistake about it. . .God has success plans for you.
In order to become the one who God can use to change their world and His world there are some things that you must believe.
You must believe that you are a child of God. . .that your life has meaning and purpose.
Galatians 3:29 says:
“And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
You must believe that God is not a man that He should lie and that every word in His Word is absolutely correct.
Numbers 23:19 in the Amplified Bible says:
“God is not a man, that He should tell or act a lie, neither the son of man, that He
should feel repentance or compunction [for what He has promised]. Has He said
and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken and shall He not make it good?”
You must believe your current situation, circumstances and problems will only affect your future negatively. . .if you decide to let them.
1 Chronicles 22:13 says:
“For you will be successful if you carefully obey the decrees and regulations that
the Lord gave to Israel through Moses. Be strong and courageous; do not be
afraid or lose heart!”
You must believe that every promise in the Bible is yours to claim and manifest.
2 Peter 1:4 in the Amplified Bible says:
“By means of these He has bestowed on us His precious and exceedingly great
promises, so that through them you may escape [by flight] from the moral decay
(rottenness and corruption) that is in the world because of covetousness (lust
and greed), and become sharers (partakers) of the divine nature.”
You must believe that God can remove any limitations you think you have and give you every good success that life has to offer.
Psalm 90:17 in the New Living Translation says:
“And may the Lord our God show us his approval and make our efforts
successful. Yes, our efforts successful!”
Child of God, there is no question that you’re the one God is looking for.
No question in my mind. . .God wants you to be the One. . .He uses to help fulfill promises for others.
The only question is whether or not you’re ready to step up to the challenge.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
