7 Treatments For Mental Constipation

. .

I was writing the words…inspiration, information, motivation, aspiration, revelation and meditation . . .when I realized that was six words and I needed an additional “ation” word to complete “7 Keys To Activating Your Future.”

As I was pondering a suitable choice for number 7 . . .a word associated with a bodily function came to my mind. . .constipation.

Truthfully, that may seem strange but many people failed to achieve success in life because they’re the victims of mental constipation.

sometimes what you eliminate in your life is just as necessary as what you add.  After all, the same thing happens when we eat.  Our body uses the nutrition of the food and we eliminate the rest.

When we process information, we take what we can use and eliminate the rest.  It is a very natural process . . .  unless something unhealthy gets stuck and that will make us sick . . .  either physically or mentally or even spiritually.

Basically, mental constipation is where there is no movement in your mental thought processes. . .no growth. . .just stagnation where you are. . .without anything new or creative passing through your life.

As I was reading about constipation on the medicinenet.com website I came across this statement:  “Acute constipation requires urgent assessment.”

I can tell you that mental constipation requires immediate and urgent assessment as well.

The medicinenet.com website gave seven possible treatments for constipation.  .

1.         Dietary Fiber

Simply said, you need to change what you’re feeding on. . .your diet.

If you’re feeding yourself a steady dose of negative programming on TV then you need to change what you’re consuming.

You need to increase the intake of fiber which is healthier for you.  In the natural, that would be fruits and vegetables because they provide what’s needed to keep things moving.  In the mental realm, you need to be reading the right books and listening to the right CDs so you can keep your thoughts stimulated and fresh.

Albert Einstein once said:

“If you feed your mind as often as you feed your stomach, then you’ll never have to worry about feeding your stomach or a roof over your head or clothes on your back.”

The Message Bible translation of Proverbs 24:14 says:

“Likewise knowledge, and wisdom for your soul—Get that and your future's secured, your hope is on solid rock.”

Your diet needs to be the pure, the powerful and the positive from the Word of God.

2.         Laxatives

A mental laxative helps move you (no pun intended) from where you are to where you can and should be.

This prescription must include the right kind of attitude.

Ephesians 4:23 in the New Living Translation says:

“Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.”

The way to having proper movement in your life is to think like the Lord thinks

Philippians 2:5 in the New Living Translation says:

“You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.”

3.         Enema

You need to get rid of all the negativity that has been bottled up inside of you.

2 Corinthians 10:5 in the Amplified Bible says:

“[Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).”

You must immediately flush any and all negativity out of your life.

4.         Suppositories

One of the absolute remedies for mental constipation is removing anything that will compromise your thought processes and your focus on God.

Oftentimes, physical constipation is cause by consuming the wrong things for your body.

Matthew 7:16 in the New Living Translation says:

“You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. Can you pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles?”

Mental constipation is sometimes difficult to relieve because of who you choose to associate with.

1 Corinthians 15:33 in the Amplified Bible says:

"Do not be so deceived and misled! Evil companionships (communion, associations) corrupt and deprave good manners and morals and character."

Proverbs 13:20 in The Living Bible says:

“Become wise by walking with the wise; hang out with fools and watch your life fall to pieces.”

You need to be around people who will stimulate brain movement and creativity.

Proverbs 1:5 says:

“A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels.”

5.         Medication

You need a disciplined approach to changing your mentality.

In the natural realm, medication prescribed by your doctor. . .gives you a regimen for breakthrough.   The key to success is following the directions . .discipling yourself to do what’s right.

Proverbs 17:22 says:

“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.”

The Amplified Bible translation of Proverbs 17:22 says:

“A happy heart is good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.”

If you just can’t seem to get a creative idea. . .then begin laughing at the devil.  It’s guaranteed to give you the movement you want.

6.         Exercise

It’s a scriptural fact. . .whatever you sow. . .that and that only shall you reap.

Galatians 6:7 says:

“Be not deceived [fooled]; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”

If you sow physical exercise you will reap the benefits of physical exercise.

Genesis 1:11 says that everything on planet earth reproduces after its own kind.

If you sow mental exercise then you will reap mental exercise.  Everything reproducing after its own kind.

In order to eliminate mental constipation . . .mental exercise must be done on a daily basis.

Joshua 1:8 in the Amplified Bible says:

“This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.”

The cure for mental constipation is the same in the New Testament as well.

Romans 1:9 in the New Living Translation says:

“God knows how often I pray for you.  Day and night I bring you and your needs in prayer to God, whom I serve with all my heart by spreading the Good News about His Son.”

Mental constipation will be eliminated out of your life. . .by your decision to exercise yourself spiritually. . .on a daily basis..

7.         Surgery

In the natural realm constipation is often cause by an intake of foods that are not good for your physical well-being.

The same truth applies in the mental realm as well.

If you hang around negative people. . .you will find your spiritual and mental creativity all blocked up.

If you feed on television or internet programming that’s negative or sinful . . . then your thought-processes will be clogged up with unwholesome, unhealthy and unproductive thinking.

In either case. . .you need to surgically remove anything that’s causing you to think negatively or not think at all.

Once you eliminate the source of negativity and/or sinfulness in your life. . .you need to fill the void with wisdom from the Lord.

This is something that must be done on a daily basis. . .after all, Jesus is our standard for conduct and daily direction.

Luke 2:52 says:

“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”

That sounds like a prescription to remove mental constipation from your life forever.
