7 Keys To Praying In A Financial Miracle

. .

Need a financial miracle?  The wrong place to look for answers and direction is Google Search.

I did a search on “how to pray for financial miracles.”

The first reference was an ad offering me a miracle prayer cloth.

I believe in prayer cloths. . .I have given them away in times past and may even do so again because Paul gave them away in the book of Acts when the anointing was strong.  However, I don’t think a prayer cloth is the first key to your miracle.

The second reference began by saying:

“Dear Lord, we pray for a favor that financial miracles may come our way the soonest. We don't ask for more than what we need Lord.

We just need the right amount we need to clear all our debts as well as my husband's. Nothing more than that Lord.”

Ok, I’m good with the prayer cloth. . .but let me tell you I’m going to ask for more than what I need. . .because there’s a world that needs my help as well.  It’s not just about me and mine.

Anyone who would limit or restrict God’s blessing flow needs a check-up from the neck-up. . .and a better understanding of the Word.

Let’s establish some basic facts.

First, our God is a God of miracles.

Second, make sure the windows of heaven are open over your life.

Third, He hears and answers your prayers because He promised He would.

Fourth, His best is not about us living from miracle to miracle.

Fifth, if you doubt your miracle manifestation . . .you will do without it.

Sixth, make it a part of your daily confession.

Seventh, stop doing stupid things financially and begin using His wisdom.

I could very easily teach those seven points. . .they’re all good. . .but they’re not the ones God gave me when I started this writing today.

1.         Repent Of All Unrighteousness and Foolishness.

1 John 1:9 in the Amplified Bible says:

“If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action].”

I rejoice that He will “cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Now that’s something so profound that we should shout enough to get up and run around the room.  Freedom from sin’s hold is huge.

To be unrighteous. . .we have first been righteous.  If we were still sinners, then we would not have been righteous.  So at some point it means we were born again.

Sadly, there are too many folks who’ve attended church, sang songs of praise and love the Lord only to backslide.   Generally, people who backslide are not disappointed with God but with themselves or another “saint” in the church.  Unfortunately, sometimes it’s the pastor who has fallen into sin.

People tend to look toward and often idolize the messenger instead of the One in the message.  But alas, this line of thinking should be in a teaching of its own.

It’s interesting that the verse equates unrighteousness with “everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought and action.”

So putting it that way, we could say . . . if we are not conforming to the purpose, thought-process and actions of the Lord and His Word, then we’re guilty of unrighteousness.  Are we teachable? Do we daily desire to do what He wants instead of what we want?

What is God purpose for your life?

If you’re not dreaming it. . .living it. . .manifesting it. . .then are you guilty of unrighteousness?  That’s an interesting thought, isn’t it?

Have you sought His presence to determine His plans for you?

Exodus 9:16 in the Amplified Bible says:

“But for this very purpose have I let you live, that I might show you My power, and that My name may be declared throughout all the earth.”

One more scripture. . .Romans 9:17 says:

“For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.”

Repenting of unrighteousness is more than confessing the obvious sins. . .it’s not flowing in His purpose for our lives. . .not thinking as He would have us think. . .and not doing what He would have us do.  When He shows us something we need to change, are we willing to change it to please Him?

Our righteousness. . .brings glory and honor to Him.

Bottom line. . .if you’re praying for a financial miracle. . .repent of everything that you know holds you back.

2.         Recognize and Praise Him As A Miracle Working God.

If you need a financial miracle. . .you should be praising God for what He’s already done in your life.

Sadly, when under economic attack. . .many believers shift into panic instead of praise mode.  Feeling desperate . . .depressed and helpless.

If you’ve felt that way, Psalm 34:2 offers some great advice for you:

“. . .let all who are helpless take heart.”

To be helpless is to be without help.  If you feel helpless. . .that’s the perfect time to begin rejoicing and praising God for His faithful promises..

How do you take heart in the middle of a storm. . .by praising Him in all things.

The Message Bible translation of Psalm 34:2 says:

“I live and breathe God; if things aren't going well, hear this and be happy.”

In the midst of your financial storm. . .don’t feel helpless. . .be happy as you Praise Him.

Psalm 34:3 says:

“O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.”

No matter what. . .He is so worthy of all our praise. . .that phrase is so much more than song lyrics . . .it should be our lifestyle.

Actually, Psalm 34 is full of encouraging scriptures to praise God for and claim in the midst of any battle:

4 I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.

6 This poor man cried, and the Lordheard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

7 The angel of the Lordencampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

15 The eyes of the Lordare upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

17 The righteous cry, and the Lordheareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lorddelivereth him out of them all.

22 The Lordredeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.

Psalm 35:28 in the Amplified Bible offers some pretty good advice:

“And my tongue shall talk of Your righteousness, rightness, and justice, and of [my reasons for] Your praise all the day long.”

Without question, if you want to feel the presence of the Lord fast, then start praising Him.  There is a lot to praise Him for.

Praising Him for what you’ve got. . .regardless of how meager it may seem. . .and what He’s going to do. . .is a giant step towards your financial miracle.

3.         You Gotta Know He Doesn’t Play Favorites—You are a favorite.

God has given me a new look at a well-known and often quoted scripture.

Acts 10:34 says:

“Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons.”

The New International Version says:

“Then Peter began to speak: "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism.”

I have read Acts 10:34 in thirteen different translations and I have not seen any sort of asterisk or footnote indicating that this scripture doesn’t apply to everybody on planet earth.

Having said all that. . .let me give you a different perspective.

Acts 10:34 in the Message Bible says:

“Peter fairly exploded with his good news: "It's God's own truth, nothing could be plainer: God plays no favorites! It makes no difference who you are or where you're from—if you want God and are ready to do as he says, the door is open.”

God plays no favorites. . .that is absolute. . .but you can determine whether or not He does for you.  Let’s examine this verse a little closer.

“. . .God plays no favorites! It makes no difference who you are or where you're from. . .”

This phrase confirms the fact that God doesn’t play favorites and is not a respecter of persons.   However, let’s look at the remainder of the verse.

“. . .if you want God and are ready to do as he says, the door is open.”

If you want God. . .in other words, if you ask. . .if you seek. . .if you knock. . .if you obey . . . you will find He is no respecter of persons.

Let’s say it another way. . .God respects and honors those whose hearts are open to obey His word.  I didn’t say ‘be perfect for Him.’  I said if we even desire to obey Him.

Think about it.

4.         Ask With Specificity

Let me ask you several questions.

Do you want a raise?  How much?  When do you want the raise to become effective?

When do you plan to pay off your first debt?  How will you do it?  What’s your plan?  When and how will you pay off your second debt?

How much weight do you want to release?  I don’t like the phrase “lose weight” because when you lose something …your natural reaction is to find it.  When will you start exercising?  What days of the week?  What exercises?  How long will your exercise program last each day?

Our God is a God of specificity which is why you must be specific in your miracle prayer request.

If you don’t have specific goals you are just ‘wishing and a hoping.’  Specificity greatly increases the likelihood of greater results.

God didn’t just tell Noah to go out and build a boat . . .He was specific.

Genesis 6:14-16 in the New King James Version says:

“Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch.

15 And this is how you shall make it: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits.

16 You shall make a window for the ark, and you shall finish it to a cubit from above; and set the door of the ark in its side. You shall make it with lower, second, and third decks.”

God didn’t just tell Moses He was going to feed the children of Israel. . .He was specific.

Exodus 16:8 in the New Living Translation says:

“Then Moses added, “The Lord will give you meat to eat in the evening and bread to satisfy you in the morning, for he has heard all your complaints against him. What have we done? Yes, your complaints are against the Lord, not against us.”

Exodus 16:16 in the New Living Translation says:

“These are the Lord’s instructions: Each household should gather as much as it needs. Pick up two quarts for each person in your tent.”

I could give you numerous other scriptures about God’s desire for specificity in what we desire in our future and yes, even in our miracle.

Habakkuk 2:2 says:

"And the Lord... said, Write the vision, and make it plain... that he may run that readeth it.  For the vision . . . shall speak ...it will surely come, it will not tarry."

The Contemporary English Version of Habakkuk 2:2 says:

“Then the LORD told me:  ‘I will give you my message in the form of a vision.  Write it clearly enough to be read at a glance.’”

Here’s just one more . . . from the New Testament just to show you that God hasn’t changed His mind on how we approach Him.  Philippians 3:6 in the Amplified Version of the Bible says:

“Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.”

Be specific.

5.         Seek Inside Information From A Source That’s Always Right

There is a phrase that I want you to repeat over and over again.

Say out loud.

“God is my closest advisor, friend and miracle provider.  He always leads me in the way that I should go.  He always gives me the best advice.  He’s never wrong.  He’s always right on time with what I need.”

James 4:2 in the New Living Translation says:

“Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it.”

God is offering you inside information about your future.

The enemy of your soul. . .the nemesis of your success. . .the would-be destroyer of your destiny can try to keep you from getting the inside information that you need to make the right decisions.   But the answers are right there and available to you if you choose to read them and put them to work in your life.

James 1:5 in the New Living Translation says:

“If you don't know what you're doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You'll get his help and won't be condescended to when you ask for it.”

There is something quite comforting in knowing you have immediate and unlimited access to inside information on miracle manifestation and every other aspect of your life.

Plus the fact that God’s information is always right. . .and right on time.

Psalm 119:137-138 in the ERV (Easy to Read Version) says:

“Lord, you do what is right,  and your decisions are fair.  The rules you have given us are right.  We can trust them completely.”

God gives you inside information and . . .you can trust it completely.

6.         Identify, Knock Out and Remove All Obstacles, Hindrances, Roadblocks and Doubt.

What’s the main thing that’s keeping you from miracle manifestation?

The words:  obstacles, hindrances and roadblocks are not in the King James Version of the Bible.  But they are stumbling blocks to your miracle manifestation.

Obstacles. . .are things that block or hinder progress. . . they are things you have to overcome.

Booker T. Washington said:

“Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome.”

When it comes to overcoming obstacles remember the words Henry Ford once said:

“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal.”

Hindrances. . .are things or perhaps people who are hindering you from doing what you know to do because you’ve take your eyes off your Source and them on people or circumstances.

Harriet Beecher Stowe, the author of Uncle Tom’s Cabin said:

“The real democratic American idea is, not that every man shall be on a level with every other man, but that every man shall have liberty to be what God made him, without hindrance.”

A roadblock. . .is an obstruction designed to send people through unknown territory and delay their progress.

Michael Jordan, the greatest basketball player to every draw a breath in my opinion, said;

“If you're trying to achieve, there will be roadblocks. I've had them; everybody has had them. But obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.”

Doubt. . .will make you question. . .what it is you really believe.

If you make an honest assessment of where you are in every area of your life. . .you would no doubt be able to identify what it is that’s holding you back.

The best way to overcome obstacles, hindrances and roadblocks is a direct frontal assault.

Here’s where your inside information is also of enormous benefit.

Proverbs 3:26 in the Amplified Bible says:

“For the Lord shall be your confidence, firm and strong, and shall keep your foot from being caught [in a trap or some hidden danger].”

7.         Give God Your Seed with Expectation

Genesis 8:22 says:

“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”

There is seedtime and harvest. . .sowing and reaping. . .as long as the earth remains.

If you don’t sow with an expectation of a harvest. . .you’re wasting your time.

Too many timesI’ve heard people say, “Well, I tried tithing and it didn’t work for me.  I gave offerings but nothing happened.  I never received a harvest.  This giving stuff just doesn’t work for me.”

When people make statements about how they tried tithing and it didn’t work for them;  the truth is that God was trying them to see if they would become faithful stewards or if they’d quit.

God never gave up on them; they just gave up on Him.  A person’s expectations must be rooted in the Word of God . . .not in circumstances around them.

Galatians 6:7 in the Amplified Bible says:

“Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.) [He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God.] For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap.”

There is confidence in knowing that whatever you sow. . .you will reap.

If you don’t send a ship out … you can’t expect one to come back.

If you leave your seed in the barn … it will never produce a crop in the field.

But don’t just send or plant… and forget it … be looking for the harvest.

Expectation brings manifestation and His rewards.

Proverbs 24:14 in the Amplified Bible says:

“So shall you know skillful and godly Wisdom to be thus to your life; if you find it, then shall there be a future and a reward, and your hope and expectation shall not be cut off."

A final thought. . .we know when we pray. . .He not only listens. . .He answers our prayers.  When we know we are lined up with the Word. . .we have every scriptural right to expect miracle manifestation in our lives.

Therefore, we must stand strong and expectant and not give in until we see the harvest.
