Recently, my faith was ignited recently as I read Psalm 34:9.
In fact, I literally shouted “Hallelujah!!”
The verse says:
"For there is NO WANT to those who truly revere and worship Him with godly fear.”
According to Strong’s Concordance the Hebrew word for want in Psalm 34:9 means "need, poverty, thing needed."
NO need. . .NO poverty. . .no thing needed.
Hallelujah!
When I read the next verse. . .Psalm 34:10 in the Amplified Bible. . .I started shouting again. The verse says:
“. . .but they who seek (inquire of and require) the Lord [by right of their need and on the authority of His Word], none of them shall lack any beneficial thing.”
You have the confidence, the knowledge and the scriptural assurance that “. . .none of them shall lack any beneficial thing.”
Child of God, your Heavenly Father wants you to have no need. . .no poverty. . .nothing needed and not lacking any beneficial thing.
HALLELUJAH.
Next, I read Psalm 34:6-10 in the New Living Translation which says:
“In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened; He saved me from all my troubles. For the angel of the Lord is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him. Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him! Fear the Lord, you his godly people, for those who fear him will have all they need. . .and those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing.”
This time. . .I saw seven keys to lacking no good thing.
The first three keys form a powerful weapon available to every believer who listens to and obeys the Word of God.
Here’s the winning 1-2-3 winning combination.
You pray. . .He listens. . .and He delivers you from all your troubles.
Psalm 34:6 in the Amplified Bible says:
“This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.”
When you’ve got your back against the wall. . .when it seems the only mail box in your neighborhood filled up with bills and past due notices is yours. . .just cry out to the Lord. . .and He will hear you.
Jeremiah 33:3 in the Amplified Bible says: “Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things. . .”
Psalm 86:5-7 says:
“In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.”
Jeremiah 29:12-14 in the Amplified Bible says:
“Then you will call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear and heed you. Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will release you from captivity. . .”
Psalm 138:3 in the New Living Translation says:
“As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength.”
Psalm 50:15 says:
“And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.”
Psalm 91:14-16 in the Message Bible says:
“If you'll hold on to me for dear life," says God, "I'll get you out of any trouble. I'll give you the best of care if you'll only get to know and trust me. Call me and I'll answer, be at your side in bad times; I'll rescue you, then throw you a party.”
Before moving on. . .I want to point out that He saves you from. . .delivers you from ALL your troubles.
Not some troubles. . .not the most pressing troubles. . .not the most annoying troubles but ALL of them.
Hallelujah! He will even save us from self-inflicted troubles.
Fourth, He will put a hedge of protection around you.
Psalm 34:7 says:
“For the angel of the Lord is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him.”
Psalm 34:7 in the Message Bible says:
“God’s angel sets up a circle of protection around us while we pray.”
Psalm 91 is what I call the Hedge of Protection chapter.
I strongly encourage you to read, meditate on, memorize and personalize this chapter as I’ve done for my fine wife Bev.
1 If Bev dwells in the secret place of the Most High. Bev will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2. Bev will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust.
3. For He will deliver Bev from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence.
4. He will cover Bev with His feathers. Under His wings Bev will take refuge. His faithfulness is Bev’s shield and rampart.
5. Bev shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day;
6. Nor of the pestilence that walks in the darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
7. A thousand may fall at Bev’s side, And ten thousand at her right hand, But it will not come near her.
8. Bev will only look with his eyes, And see the recompense of the wicked.
9. Because Bev has made the Lord her refuge. And the Most High her dwelling place.
10. No evil shall happen to Bev, Neither shall any plague come near Bev’s dwelling.
11. For He will give His angels charge over Bev, To guard her in all her ways.
12. They will bear Bev up in their hands, So that Bev won’t dash her foot against a stone.
13. Bev will tread on the lion and cobra. The young lion and the serpent she will trample underfoot.
14. Because Bev has set her love on Me, therefore I will deliver her. I will set Bev on high, because she has known my name. I will be with Bev in trouble. I will deliver Bev, and honor her.
15. I will satisfy Bev with long life, And show her My salvation.
Now that’s what I call weapons of demonic destruction.
Fifth, taste and see the Lord is good.
Psalm 34:8 says:
“O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”
Psalm 34:8 in the Amplified Bible says:
“O taste and see that the Lord [our God] is good! Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who trusts and takes refuge in Him.
The Message Bible translation of Psalm 34:8 says:
“Open your mouth and taste, open your eyes and see—how good God is. Blessed are you who run to him.”
The last part of Psalm 34:8 in the Easy-To-Read Versions says:
“. . .Great blessings belong to those who depend on him!”
The way to taste the Word. . .is to chew on it. Savior every bit. . .each a greater delicacy than the last.
Psalm 119:103 in the Message Bible says:
“Your words are so choice, so tasty; I prefer them to the best home cooking. With your instruction, I understand life.”
By feeding on the Word. . .you never have to wonder or worry about what to do next. The Word of God is alive. It is like food that nourishes our souls. Our faith activates the Word.
John 14:26 says:
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”
Feeding on the Word. . .gives us spiritual strength to overcome every obstacle.
Sixth, those who fear Him. . .will have all they need.
Psalm 34:9 in the Amplified Bible says:
“O fear the Lord, you His saints [revere and worship Him]! For there is no want to those who truly revere and worship Him with godly fear.”
According to Strong’s Concordance the Hebrew word for fear is yare' (H3372) and it means:
“to fear, reverence, honour, respect”
The Easy-To-Read version of Psalm 34:9 says:
“The Lord’s holy people should fear and respect him. Those who respect him will always have what they need.”
If you want to increase in every area of your life. . .respect, honor and have a reverential fear of the Lord.
Psalm 115:12-14 says:
“The LORD hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron. He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great. The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children.”
Proverbs 23:17-19 in the New Living Translation says:
“Don’t envy sinners, but always continue to fear the Lord. You will be rewarded for this; your hope will not be disappointed. My child, listen and be wise: Keep your heart on the right course.”
You will be rewarded. The scripture doesn’t say “you might be,” “you could be” or “you should be.” The scripture says that your faithfulness . . . your fear of the Lord . . . your trust in Him . . . WILL BE REWARDED.
Have you ever wanted to me in the inner circle of someone important. . .now you can be.
Psalm 25:12,13 in The Living Bible says:
"Where is the man who fears the Lord? God will teach him how to choose the best. He shall live within God's circle of blessing."
The last part of Psalm 34:9 says:
“. . . For there is no want to those who truly revere and worship Him with godly fear.”
The scripture doesn’t say there is ‘some want’. . .it says there is NO WANT for those who truly worship Him with godly fear.
Psalm 34:9 in the Contemporary English Version says:
“Honor the LORD! You are his special people. No one who honors the LORD will ever be in need.”
Now that ought to make you shout Hallelujah.
Seventh, you will have every beneficial thing.
Psalm 34:10 in the Amplified Bible says:
“The young lions lack food and suffer hunger, but they who seek (inquire of and require) the Lord [by right of their need and on the authority of His Word], none of them shall lack any beneficial thing.”
You have the confidence. . .the scriptural guarantee. . .that you shall not lack any beneficial thing.
Is having all your bills paid a beneficial thing. . .YES.
Is having a good job a beneficial thing. . .YES.
Is having a successful business a beneficial thing. . .YES.
Is having a proper retirement and investment portfolio a beneficial thing. . .YES.
Is walking in divine health a beneficial thing. . .YES.
Is having all your family members saved a beneficial thing. . .YES.
Is not having to worry about money a beneficial thing. . .YES, it is.
Is having the ability to think beyond your imagination a beneficial thing. . .YES.
The Contemporary English Version of Psalm 34:10 says:
“. . . but if you trust the LORD, you will never miss out on anything good.”
Psalm 34:6-10 has a powerful scriptural and spiritual progression of belief and behavior for every born again Christian.
I’m going to repeat the entire passage one more time. . .I encourage you to read, study, meditate, confess and manifest these seven steps.
Psalm 34:6-10 in the New Living Translation says:
“In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened; He saved me from all my troubles. For the angel of the Lord is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him. Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him! Fear the Lord, you his godly people, for those who fear him will have all they need. . .and those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing.”
1. You pray
2. God listens
3. He delivers you from all your troubles.
4. God will put a hedge of protection around you.
5. Taste and see the Lord is good.
6. Those who fear Him. . .will have all they need
7. You will have every beneficial thing
