7 Reasons It's Going To Happen

. .

I’ve got a word for you. . .whatever you’ve been believing for. . .it’s going to happen.

It’s not a question of if. . .but when.

My fine wife, Bev, shared a scripture with me several days ago that ignited in my spirit and strengthened my belief that. . .whatever you’re believing for. . .trusting is going to happen. . .is going to manifest.

1 Chronicles 28:20 in The Living Bible says:

“Then he continued, “Be strong and courageous and get to work. Don’t be frightened by the size of the task, for the Lord my God is with you; he will not forsake you. He will see to it that everything is finished correctly."

In this powerful verse. . .we find seven reasons what you’re believing for. . .is going to happen.

1.         Be strong

In 1 Chronicles 28:20 the Hebrew word for strong is chazaq (ha zak) (H2388) and it means:

“to strengthen, prevail, harden, be strong, become strong, be courageous, be firm, grow firm.”

We’re told 32 times in the King James Version of the Bible to be strong.

We’re to be strong the face of our enemies regardless of how formidable or seemingly  undefeatable. . .they may at first appear to be.

I Kings 20:27 in The Living Bible says:

“Israel then mustered its army, set up supply lines, and moved into the battle but the Israeli army looked like two little flocks of baby goats in comparison to the vast Syrian forces that filled the country side.”

We’re to follow His instructions. . .be strong and possess every promise that God has made in His word.

Deuteronomy11:8 says:

Therefore shall ye keep all the commandments which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whither ye go to possess it.”

We’re told to be strong wherever we’re going and whatever we’ve been directed to do because we will never be alone.

Joshua 1:9 in the Amplified Bible says:

“Have not I commanded you? Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Be not afraid, neither be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

We’re to be strong because like the Energizer Bunny we’ll just keep going and going and going onto victory. . .because we draw our strength from Him.

Ephesians 6:10 in the Amplified Bible says:

“In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides].”

We’re told to be strong in His grace. . .unmerited favor.

2 Timothy 2:1 in the Amplified Bible says:

“So you, my son, be strong (strengthened inwardly) in the grace (spiritual blessing) that is [to be found only] in Christ Jesus.”

The list of scriptures could go on. . .but the message is clear. . .God is not looking for spiritual weaklings who crumble under the pressure of an attack or seemingly impossible adversity. . .He wants us to be strong.  Okay, just one more:

Proverbs 24:10 says:

“If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.”

Ten of the 32 times be strong is in the King James Bible. . .it also says be strong and of a good courage which leads me to number two.

2.         Be courageous

Joshua 1:9 says:

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage. . .”

The Hebrew word for courage means:

“alert, courageous, brave; to exhibit strength.”

The verse says that we’re to be strong and courageous.  It’s one thing to be strong but it’s something entirely different to be “brave or courageous.”

Over the years, I’ve known a lot of people who were strong but not courageous meaning they weren’t willing to stand up for what they believed.

Psalm 31:24 in the New Living Translation says:

“So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the Lord!”

Strength is a component of courage but courage is not necessarily a part of strength.

Let me say it another way. . .courage means having the strength to do something despite being afraid.

How do you become courageous?  The same way you become strong. . .by reading, speaking and acting on the Word of God.

When you become totally committed to trusting and living God’s Word there won’t be anything or anyone who can keep you quiet about it.

People don’t lack strength so much as they lack the courage to do something with what they’ve got.

As you face attacks of the enemy. . .just remember. . .there is ALWAYS more of you than there are of the enemy forces.

2 Chronicles 32:7 says:

“Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him.”

3.         Get To Work

If your boss ever has to stop by to tell you to get to work. . .you can be assured there are no promotions. . .raises. . .bonuses or added benefits in your future.

If you’ve been employed to do a job. . .DO IT.  And don’t just DO IT. . .do it with excellence even if no one on earth sees you doing it.  You can be assured God is making note of it in heaven.

As I was typing this teaching I was reminded of something I read several years ago entitled “get to work.”

“The population of this country is 300 million.
160 million are retired.
That leaves 140 million to do the work.
There are 85 million in school.
Which leaves 55 million to do the work.
Of this there are 35 million employed by the federal government.
Leaving 15 million to do the work.
2.8 million are in the armed forces
Which leaves 12.2 million to do the work.
Take from that total the 10.8 million people who work for state and city governments.
And that leaves 1.4 million to do the work.
At any given time there are 188,000 people in hospitals.
Leaving 1,212,000 to do the work.
Now, there are 1,211,998 people in prisons.
That leaves just two people to do the work.

You and me, And there you are, sitting on your behind, at your computer, reading jokes.
Nice. Real nice.”

Sadly, it’s funny and true at the same time.

Remember this. . .when it comes to work.

God will prosper what you do...not what you think about doing...what you talk doing or what you don't get around to do.

It’s time to stop talking and start doing.  It’s even time to stop praying …  get up and get moving.

Exodus 14:15 in The Living Bible says:

“Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Quit praying and get the people moving! Forward, march!’”

If you focus all your mental energy on what you don’t have instead of what you can have…then you will forever live in shortage and lack because your focus is in the wrong direction.

4.         Don’t be frightened by the size of the task

Here are seven practical things you can do when you feel frightened by the size of any task.

First, ask yourself what makes the task appear to be frightening.  Then write down the task and how you can overcome any obstacles.

Second, create a timeline for completion of the task.

Third, create momentum by accomplishing as many of the easier tasks as you can in 30 minutes.

Fourth, mark things off your list as they’re completed…it will give you a sense of satisfaction and progress.

Fifth, control the environment where you’re thinking and working. . .as much as you can.

Sixth, spend 10 minutes every hour. . .getting up walking around. . .refreshing your body and mind.

Seventh, praise God for every accomplishment.

Mark 9:23 in God’s WORD Translation says:

“Jesus said to him, “As far as possibilities go, everything is possible for the person who believes.”

Matthew 17:20 in God’s WORD Translation says:

“He told them, “Because you have so little faith. I can guarantee this truth: If your faith is the size of a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

5.         The Lord your God is with you in whatever you do

Isaiah 41:10 in the Contemporary English Version says:

Don't be afraid. I am with you. Don't tremble with fear. I am your God. I will make you strong, as I protect you with my arm and give you victories.”

The first sentence says it all.  “Don’t be afraid, I am with you.”

Let that sink in.  “Don’t be afraid.  I am with you.”

Personalize it so you can hear your own name in connection with this powerful statement.

No matter where you go or what you go through. . .you have the comfort in knowing that God is with you.  He will never leave you or forsake you.  He is your closest companion.

Just think. . .you’re on a life-long road trip with our great God Jehovah.  You don’t have to ‘feel it,’ you need to KNOW it.

Here are four scriptures that should give you a scriptural confidence that God is with you.

The King James Version of Isaiah 41:10 says:

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

Psalm 118:6 in the Message Bible says:

“God's now at my side and I'm not afraid; who would dare lay a hand on me?”

Deuteronomy 20:1 in the Message Bible says:

“. . . In a few minutes you're going to do battle with your enemies. Don't waver in resolve. Don't fear. Don't hesitate. Don't panic. God, your God, is right there with you, fighting with you against your enemies, fighting to win."

Psalm 139:5 in the Message Bible says:

“You know when I leave and when I get back; I'm never out of your sight. You know everything I'm going to say before I start the first sentence.

“I look behind me and you're there, then up ahead and you're there, too—your reassuring presence, coming and going.  This is too much, too wonderful—I can't take it all in!”

6.         God will not forsake you

In the four verses that follow. . .you will note each one says that God will not forsake you.  However, there is another phrase that’s in all four verses and it holds even greater promise for you lives.

See if you can identify it. . .as youread these verses.

Deuteronomy 31:6 in the Amplified Bible says:

“Be strong, courageous, and firm; fear not nor be in terror before them, for it is the Lord your God Who goes with you; He will not fail you or forsake you.”

Deuteronomy 31:8 in the Amplified Bible says:

“It is the Lord Who goes before you; He will [march] with you; He will not fail you or let you go or forsake you; [let there be no cowardice or flinching, but] fear not, neither become broken [in spirit—depressed, dismayed, and unnerved with alarm].”

Joshua 1:4-6 in the Amplified Bible say:

“No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you.”

1 Chronicles 28:20 in the Amplified Bible says:

“Also David told Solomon his son, Be strong and courageous, and do it. Fear not, be not dismayed, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail or forsake you until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.”

When someone doesn’t forsake you. . .it means they will never leave you alone no matter how intense the battle.  But, when someone. . .especially your great God, Jehovah says He will not fail you. . .that’s something entirely more powerful.

God. . .your God. . .will not fail nor forsake you. . .Hallelujah!!!

7.         God will enlighten, enable and empower you to finish everything you’re working on. . .correctly

When God created the heavens and the earth. . .He didn’t say:  “Well, that’s a good start.  I’ll about around to finishing this up sometime soon.”

No way, Genesis 2:1 says:

“Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.”

When you start something. . .finish it. . .for the sake of everybody involved.

Joshua 4:10 says:

“For the priests which bare the ark stood in the midst of Jordan, until everything was finished that the Lord commanded Joshua to speak unto the people, according to all that Moses commanded Joshua: and the people hasted and passed over.”

When Jesus was hanging on the cross. . .He didn’t say, “it’s begun.”

In John 19:30 He says:  “. . .It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.”

The reward comes to those who finished the race.

2 Timothy 4:7 says:

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

When you finish the race. . .then you’ve kept the faith.

Philippians 3:12-16 in the Message Bible says:

“I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.

“So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you’ll see it yet! Now that we’re on the right track, let’s stay on it.”

God will help us finish what He’s called us to do. . .and He’ll help us do it correctly.

STORY (if time allows)

Mohammed All, the three time world heavyweight boxing champion who was on the cover of Sports Illustrated a total of 37 times…second only to Michael Jordan who’s been on their 49 times.

The story is told of Mohammed Ali, who during the height of his career referred to himself as Superman….who was sitting in the first class section of a flight. As the plane was preparing for take-off, the flight attendant asked Mohammed Ali if he would please fasten his seat belt. He said to the flight attendant, "Superman don't need no seat belt" to which she replied, "Yeah and Superman don't need no airplane."

God isn't looking for Superman, Batman, Iron Man or Wonder Woman.  God is looking for and wants to use ordinary people, people like you, people like me.  Make sure you watch my recent video “7 Ways To Be God’s Super Hero.”
