Weapons That Will Defeat ISIS

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in Life Strategies

Sadly but justifiably, the news is filled with talk about the threat of ISIS. . .we should be concerned and praying for our leaders to take a firm, victorious stand against these Islamic extremists.

I was recently reminded by the Lord that you and I have immediate and continual access to weapons that are stronger and more effective than any WMD (weapon of mass destruction) or the vest of a suicide bomber.

The Lord also reminded me that we already have a coalition in place to defeat ISIS and every other enemy the devil sends our way.  The will power of our coalition does come and go. . .it’s constant. . .never-changing. . .always available  and powerful.

Our coalition consists of the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost and our battle plan for victory is found in the Word of God.

This Word not only prepares us for. . .but protects us in battle. . through every attack of any enemy. . .natural or spiritual.

Defeat Your Giant In 15 Seconds

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in RichThoughts

The story of David and Goliath is probably a favorite story of most all children. . .I know it was mine.

The giants that you and I face define our identity and establish the reality in which we’ve chosen to live.  The giants we face and defeat outline the places and spaces where we’ve chosen to live.

The giants in our lives. . .are determined to keep us out of our promised land where the promises of God are manifested.

By the way, you’re in promised land right now. . .the question is whether or not we embrace His promises to make it a land flowing with milk and honey. . .abundance and success.

Our ability to face and defeat our giants. . .will determine the extent of the success we achieve.

7 Primary Ways God Heals

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in RichThoughts

Jesus is our Great Physician and His power, knowledge and abilities are without limitation because He is Jehovah-Rapha, our God who heals.

Exodus 15:26 says:

“And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.”

According to Strong’s Concordance. . .the very name of God. . .Jehovah-Rapha reveals He is “. . .the Lord that healeth thee.” (H7495)

The fact that Jesus would pay the price for our healing was prophesied 700 years before His birth by the prophet Isaiah.  In fact, Isaiah 53:4-5 says:

“Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses) and carried our sorrows (pains); yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”

Isaiah prophesied long before Jesus ever walked the earth as a man. . .long before He was crucified and resurrected.  That’s why some people who don’t believe in divine healing cite this verse as historical fact with no spiritual application.  However, we cannot ignore the words of Matthew 8:16-17 which says:

7 Reasons Not To Compare Yourself To Others

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in RichThoughts

 “Stop It.”

When I heard those two words I was standing in a Half Price Book Store glancing through a book. . .I was about purchase.  I looked around to see if one of the other customers had spoken those words to me. . .they had not. . .there was no one near me.

I knew the spirit of the Lord was clearly speaking to me so I sat down at a table as I paused to hear His voice. . .He said to me:

"Tell my children to stop comparing themselves to others. My Word and their obedience to it...is the only measure of comparison my children should be concerned about."

I meditated on those words.  “Tell my children to stop comparing themselves to others.”

I realized that many people get themselves into financial trouble because they’re always comparing themselves to others and the things they have or don’t have.

I saw a recent survey that revealed that the average age children get a cell phone is eight years old.  Can you believe that?

Have your children or grandchildren ever asked you for a cell phone like “so and so” has?  Every new cell phone release. . .with the latest gadgets and widgets prompts the requests for a new phone.

By the way, it’s not just the children that want the latest and greatest.  It’s Moms and Dads as well.  Why this got to have IT attitude?  It’s simple, comparing what we have with what others have.

I could talk about this economic foolishness because it manifests on so many levels with all kinds of purchases. . .but I need to move on.

As I was reflecting on the Lord’s words to me. . .I felt stirred to write “seven reasons not to compare ourselves to others.”

7 Keys To Being A Receiver

Editor's Note. . .we strongly encourage you to watch this teaching as the Holy Spirit flow was awesome. Click Here to watch now!

John 1:12 in the Amplified Bible says:

“But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name.”

According to Strong’s Concordance the Greek word for receive is H2943 and it means:

“to take with the hand, lay hold of, any person or thing in order to use it; to take what is one's own, to take to one's self, to make one's own; to receive (what is given), to gain, get, obtain, to get back”

Salvation is a gift. . .but we must receive it.

Healing is a gift. . .but we must receive it.

God’s promises are a gift. . .but we must receive them.

Holy Ghost power is a gift. . .but we must receive it.

There are times when people won’t receive a gift, a blessing or a compliment because of some false sense of humility.

Guess Who's Thinking About You

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in Life Strategies

When you go through any sort of trauma. . .sickness, loss of a job or even a loved one. . .you will inevitably meet someone who says “I’ve been thinking about you.”

This phrase is often uttered when caring people want to express their love and concern about your situation but they aren’t sure what else to say.

To have someone tell you they’ve been thinking about you in the midst of your personal challenge or adversity is always appreciated.

I’ve experienced this first hand this year.  I interact with many people on a daily basis. . .some of whom I’ve never met but who know about me . . .because of an article in a local newspaper about how I overcame breast cancer this year.

Notice I don’t refer to myself as a cancer survivor but as an overcomer.
