The Blueprint Of Achievement by William Arthur Ward

“Believe while others are doubting

Plan while others are playing

Study while others are sleeping

Decide while others are delaying

Prepare while others are daydreaming

Begin while others are procrastinating

Work while others are wishing

Save while others are wasting

Listen while others are talking

Smile while others are pouting

Commend while others are criticizing

Persist while others are quitting”

Ecclesiastes 3:22 CEV

We were meant to enjoy our work, and that's the best thing we can do. We can never know the future.”

First, stop talking negatively about your supervisor or your job.

Luke 11:21-22 AMP

“When the strong man, fully armed, [from his courtyard] guards his own dwelling, his belongings are undisturbed [his property is at peace and is secure].  But when one stronger than he attacks him and conquers him, he robs him of his whole armor on which he had relied and divides up and distributes all his goods as plunder (spoil).”

2 Corinthians 10:3-4 AMP

“For though we walk (live) in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons. For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds.”

Second, start Praising God that you’ve got a job. . .regardless of how you feel about it.

2 Corinthians 9:8 AMP

“And God is able to make all grace [every favor and earthly blessing] come in abundance to you, so that you may always [under all circumstances, regardless of the need] have complete sufficiency in everything [being completely self-sufficient in Him], and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity.”

“Heavenly Father, I think you that you woke me up this morning that you clothed me in the mind of Christ.  I think you that the fruit of the Holy Spirit is working through me as I reflect your love and attitude in every conversation.

I thank you that I can breathe on my own. . .I can feed myself. . .I can hear others speak and they can hear me.

I thank you that I’m blessed enough to have a job. . .and I rejoice in the wisdom you’re giving me daily to handle difficult situations and people in that job with the same kind of love that would flow through You.

Lord, I’m asking you to help me be the very best employee this organization has ever had until you promote me to my next assignment.  And yes, I want to thank you that my promotion doesn’t come from the north, south, east, west, a man or woman but from you.

So thank you Father, that I’m energized and empowered for any and everything that comes my way today and the joy of the Lord is my strength.  Hallelujah and Amen!!”

Third, create a plan to improve your skill set and marketability in the workplace.

Lou Holtz, a former college football, player and coach and analyst said:

“In this world you're either growing or you're dying so get in motion and grow.”

Psalm 71:17 AMP

“O God, You have taught me from my youth, And I still declare Your wondrous works and miraculous deeds.”

Psalm 92:14 AMP

“[Growing in grace] they will still thrive and bear fruit and prosper in old age; They will flourish and be vital and fresh [rich in trust and love and contentment]”

Fourth, prepare and present yourself properly for your next assignment.

Now let’s look at specific, practical steps which will help you in getting hired for a new job.

1.         What can I do today to increase my value in the marketplace by sharpening my   skill set?

2.         Who should I call? .

3.         Use the 7/11 formula for success.

4.         Never go on an interview without praying.

5.         Work on your resume.

6.         Get up at your normal time….dress for work. . .do the things you would normally do when you were still on the job.

7.         Visit appropriate websites…job placement sites. . .staffing sites. . .classified ad listings in newspapers.

Fifth, start looking for a new job.

Isaiah 48:17 MSG

"I am God, your God, who teaches you how to live right and well. I show you what to do, where to go.”

Psalm 32:8 AMP

“I [the Lord] will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.”

Joshua 1:9 MSG

“. . .God, your God, is with you every step you take."

Sixth, give your current employer your best effort and keep quiet about the new job you’re seeking.

Romans 10:12 NKJV

“Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.”

Psalm 32:8 AMP

I [the Lord] will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.”

Matthew 6:6 NKJV

But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.”

I Corinthians 4:2 AMP

Moreover, it is [essentially] required of stewards that a man should be found faithful [proving himself worthy of trust].”

Psalm 75:6 TLB

For promotion and power come from nowhere on earth, but only from God. He promotes one and deposes another.”

Seventh, don’t quit your current job until you have a written offer from your new job.

Ecclesiastes 6:9-11 TLB

“ A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush; mere dreaming of nice things is foolish; it’s chasing the wind.”

Zig Ziglar, the author of “Born To Win” and Southern Baptist layman once said:

“A lot of people quit looking for work as soon as they find a job.”
