Breakthrough Your Comfort Zone - Outline

on on . .

Here is tonight's teaching for SUNDAY NITE LIVE.  Join us at 6 PM EST.

1.       Talk to the right Person.

Matthew 11:28-30 MSG

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."

Proverbs 3:5-6 MSG

“Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don't try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God's voice in everything you doeverywhere you go; he's the one who will keep you on track.”

Here are seven powerful reasons we should be ready to listen. . .when the Holy Spirit speaks.

# 1     He will keep you on track.

Jeremiah 33:2-3 AMPC

“Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which you do not know (do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and understand).”

Jeremiah 33:3 MSG

“`I'll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.'”

# 2     He will reveal things you do not know.

2 Chronicles 20:10 MSG

“. . . We don't know what to do; we're looking to you."

# 3     You can have confidence in knowing when you don’t know. . .He always does.

Psalm 86:7 KJV

“In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.”

# 4     He’s even available on weekends, holidays & for midnight talks.

Jeremiah 29:12-14 AMPC

“Then you will call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear and heed you.   Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will release you from captivity. . .”

# 5     He can and will release you from the things that have had you bound.

Isaiah 48:17 MSG

“I am God, your God, who teaches you how to live right and well. I show you what to do, where to go.”

# 6     He will teach you how to overcome your past and the adversities of life . . . so you can have a rich and satisfying life (John 10:10 NLT).

Isaiah 41:8 MSG

“Don't panic. I'm with you. There's no need to fear for I'm your God. I'll give you strength. I'll help you. I'll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you."

# 7     Forget about your problem. . .help someone else solve theirs.

Smith Wigglesworth, one of God’s Generals once said:

“God has chosen us to help one another.”

Robert Murray McCheyne, a 19th century minister in the Church of Scotland once said:

“The Christian is a person who makes it easy for others to believe in God.”

2.       Create balance in your life.

I have discovered that if someone is having trouble letting go of what’s holding them back it’s most often a lack of balance in their daily lives.

THE SIX MAJOR AREAS of a person’s life are: spiritual, family, mental, physical, financial, and social.

If you want to breakthrough your comfort zone and loose from what’s been what’s holding you back. . . work at putting your life in balance.

3.       Know your priorities.

Matthew 6:33 KJV

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

# 1     Seek ye first

# 2     The Kingdom of God

# 3     His Righteousness

1 John 4:4 KJV

“. . . because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

# 4     And then (after you’ve gotten your priorities straight)

# 5     All

# 6     These things

# 7     Shall be added unto you

The Amplified Bible says these things “will be given you besides.”

The Contemporary Version of Matthew 6:33 concludes by saying: “Then the other things will be yours as well…”

4.       What you think about you. . .is more important than what anybody else thinks about you.

Here are seven things to help us see ourselves . . .the way God sees us.

# 1     You’re a chip off the old block.

Genesis 1:26 KJV

“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. . .”

Genesis 1:26 NLT

“Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us…”

# 2     Don’t compare yourself to anybody else.

# 3     Create a list of the things in your life that you’re proud of. . .regardless of whether they’re big or small.

Zechariah 4:10 NLT

“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin…”

# 4     Write out the list of the things that are most positive in your life. . .character qualities, work habits, etc.

# 5     You make a list of the things . . .you need to change in your life.

5.       Don’t worry about what hasn’t happened or borrow trouble.

Matthew 6:34 MSG

"Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.”

Give your attention to WHAT God is doing RIGHT NOW.

God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.”

Matthew 6:34 TLB

Jesus said, “So, don’t be anxious about tomorrow. God will take care of your tomorrow too. Live one day at a time.”

6.       Six ways to step back. . .so you can step up.

# 1     Rest your mind

Exodus 14:14 AMPC

“The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace and remain at rest.”

# 2     Relax your grip

Psalm 9:9 MSG

“God's a safe-house for the battered, a sanctuary during bad times. The moment you arrive, you relax; you're never sorry you knocked.”

# 3     Reflect on your future

Psalm 119:15 NLT

“I will study your commandments and reflect on your ways.”

# 4     Refresh your soul

Matthew 11:28 AMPC

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]”

# 5     Renew your hope

Psalm 94:19 NLT

“When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.”

# 6     Rejoice in the opportunities God is giving you today

Psalm 118:24 AMPC

“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

7.       Studying not only makes you smarter. . . it ignites your future success.

2 Timothy 2:15 KJV

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Mark 4:24 AMPC

“And He said to them, Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you--and more [besides] will be given to you who hear.”
