1.       They may not understand everything and what they know…they may have misunderstood.

Galatians 6:4-5 TLB

“Let everyone be sure that he is doing his very best, for then he will have the personal satisfaction of work well done and won’t need to compare himself with someone else.  Each of us must bear some faults and burdens of his own. For none of us is perfect!.”

Proverbs 3:5-6 AMP

“Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.  In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.”

2.       On Judgment Day. . .you will answer for what you said…what you did and what you knew to be true.

Matthew 12:36-37 TLB

And I tell you this, that you must give account on Judgment Day for every idle word you speak. Your words now reflect your fate then: either you will be justified by them or you will be condemned.”

“I promise you that on the day of judgment, everyone will have to account for every careless word they have spoken.  On that day they will be told that they are either innocent or guilty because of the things they have said.”

“And now, children, stay with Christ. Live deeply in Christ. Then we'll be ready for him when he appears, ready to receive him with open arms, with no cause for red-faced guilt or lame excuses when he arrives.”

3.       Jesus will be your advocate. . .defending what you did. . .not what somebody else did for you.

Acts 17:31 AMP

“Because He has fixed a day when He will judge the world righteously (justly) by a Man Whom He has destined and appointed for that task, and He has made this credible and given conviction and assurance and evidence to everyone by raising Him from the dead.”

1 John 2:1

“…we have an advocate (attorney) with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.”

“… we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous.”

4.       The Word is the standard of Judgment and you will be accountable for what you did with the Word.

John 12:48 AMP

“Anyone who rejects Me and persistently sets Me at naught, refusing to accept My teachings, has his judge [however]; for the [very] message that I have spoken will itself judge and convict him at the last day.”

Nehemiah 8:8

“So they read distinctly from the book, in the Law of God; and they gave the sense, and helped them to understand the reading.”

5.       If you feel peaceful. . .it’s His idea. . .not theirs.

[Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]”

“You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.”

6.       Follow His plans. . .not theirs.

Jeremiah 29:11 TLB

“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Proverbs 16:3 NLT

“Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.”

First, seek the Lord. . .his wisdom, understanding and favor. 

Psalm 20:4 NLT

“May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed.” 

Next, seek out those who can best help you plan the move out of your personal wilderness into the Promised Land.

Proverbs 15:22 NLT

“Plans go wrong for lack of advice; many advisers bring success.”

7.       Somebody is always wanting to tell you what they think. . .but it’s what He thinks that determines your destiny.

1 Peter 1:15

“But now you must be holy in everything you do. . .”

“Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth.”
