Here is the teaching outline for SUNDAY NITE LIVE.  Join us at 6 PM (EST).

1.         Always be available for important assignments.

1 Kings 17:1 AMP

“Elijah the Tishbite, of the temporary residents of Gilead, said to Ahab, As the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, before Whom I stand, there shall not be dew or rain these years but according to My word.”

1 Kings 17:2 MSG

“God then told Elijah, “Get out of here, and fast.”

1 Kings 18:1

“After many days, the word of the Lord came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, show yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain upon the earth.”

2.         Never allow fear to hinder you from your assignment.

1 Kings 18:7-9 AMP

“As Obadiah was on the way, behold, Elijah met him. He recognized him and fell on his face and said, Are you my lord Elijah?

8 He answered him, It is I. Go tell your lord, Behold, Elijah is here.

9 And he said, What sin have I committed, that you would deliver your servant into the hands of Ahab to be slain?”

2 Timothy 1:7 AMP

“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.”

3.         Speak the truth even when it may not make you popular.

1 Kings 18:18 AMP

“Elijah replied, I have not troubled Israel, but you have, and your father’s house, by forsaking the commandments of the Lord and by following the Baals.”

Proverbs 19:20 AMP

“Hear counsel, receive instruction, and accept correction, that you may be wise in the time to come.”

Proverbs 13:18 AMP

“Poverty and shame come to him who refuses instruction and correction, but he who heeds reproof is honored.”

4.         Boldly believe God will do what He says He will do.

1 Kings 18:20-21

“So Ahab summoned all the people of Israel and the prophets to Mount Carmel.  Then Elijah stood in front of them and said, “How much longer will you waver, hobbling between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him! But if Baal is God, then follow him!” But the people were completely silent.”

1 Kings 18:22-24 NLT

“Then Elijah said to them, “I am the only prophet of the Lord who is left, but Baal has 450 prophets. Now bring two bulls. The prophets of Baal may choose whichever one they wish and cut it into pieces and lay it on the wood of their altar, but without setting fire to it. I will prepare the other bull and lay it on the wood on the altar, but not set fire to it. Then call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of the Lord. The god who answers by setting fire to the wood is the true God!” And all the people agreed.”

1 Kings 18:26

“So they prepared one of the bulls and placed it on the altar. Then they called on the name of Baal from morning until noontime, shouting, “O Baal, answer us!” But there was no reply of any kind. Then they danced, hobbling around the altar they had made.”

1 Kings 18:27 MSG

“By noon, Elijah had started making fun of them, taunting, "Call a little louder—he is a god, after all. Maybe he's off meditating somewhere or other, or maybe he's gotten involved in a project, or maybe he's on vacation. You don't suppose he's overslept, do you, and needs to be waked up?"

5.         God will allow you to see things others won’t.

1 Kings 18:41-42 AMP

“And Elijah said to Ahab, Go up, eat and drink, for there is the sound of abundance of rain.  42 So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he bowed himself down upon the earth and put his face between his knees.”

1 Kings 18:43 AMP

“And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up and looked and said, There is nothing. Elijah said, Go again seven times.”

Genesis 28:13 MSG

”Then God was right before him, saying, "I am God, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac. . . All the families of the Earth will bless themselves in you and your descendants. Yes. I'll stay with you, I'll protect you wherever you go, and I'll bring you back to this very ground. I'll stick with you until I've done everything I promised you."

Jeremiah 1:11 AMP

“[Stand Up and Say Your Piece ] God's Message came to me: "What do you see, Jeremiah?" I said, "A walking stick—that's all." And God said, "Good eyes! I'm sticking with you. I'll make every word I give you come true."

1 Kings 18:43 AMP

“And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up and looked and said, There is nothing. Elijah said, Go again seven times.”

6.         God will strengthen you run the race He sets before you.

1 Kings 18:44-45 AMP

“And at the seventh time the servant said, A cloud as small as a man’s hand is arising out of the sea. And Elijah said, Go up, say to Ahab, Hitch your chariot and go down, lest the rain stop you.

In a little while, the heavens were black with wind-swept clouds, and there was a great rain. And Ahab went to Jezreel.”

1 Kings 18:46 NLT

“Then the Lord gave special strength to Elijah. He tucked his cloak into his belt and ran ahead of Ahab’s chariot all the way to the entrance of Jezreel.”

1 Kings 18:46

“The hand of the Lord was on Elijah. He girded up his loins and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel [nearly twenty miles].”

1 Thessalonians 1:4-5 MSG

“It is clear to us, friends, that God not only loves you very much but also has put his hand on you for something special. When the Message we preached came to you, it wasn’t just words. Something happened in you. The Holy Spirit put steel in your convictions.”

7.         God believes in you. . .even when you don’t.

1 Kings 19:1-4 NLT

“When Ahab got home, he told Jezebel everything Elijah had done, including the way he had killed all the prophets of Baal. 2 So Jezebel sent this message to Elijah: “May the gods strike me and even kill me if by this time tomorrow I have not killed you just as you killed them.”

1 Kings 19:3 NLT

“Elijah was afraid and fled for his life. He went to Beersheba, a town in Judah, and he left his servant there.”

1 Kings 19:4 NLT

Then he went on alone into the wilderness, traveling all day. He sat down under a solitary broom tree and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors who have already died.”

1 Kings 19:15-16 NLT

“Then the Lord told him, “Go back the same way you came, and travel to the wilderness of Damascus. When you arrive there, anoint Hazael to be king of Aram. Then anoint Jehu grandson of Nimshi[b] to be king of Israel, and anoint Elisha son of Shaphat from the town of Abel-meholah to replace you as my prophet.”
