If a quarterback's timing is off. . .he's going to have a bad day with more interceptions than touchdowns.  That's clearly evident in some of the National Football League games you watch each week.

If a basketball player, whether high school, college or professional, has his timing off. . .he won't be able to make a free throw. . .no matter how big the rim is.

If life. . .if your timing is off. . .you can miss possibilities. . .and opportunities for success.

Timing is critically important in life.

Something can be a good idea. . .it can be a great idea. . .it can be a God idea but for it to be successful it must be in God's timing. 

Here are seven facts you ought to know about His timing.

1.         The Holy Spirit gives you the timing.

Have you ever said “I’ve had it. . .that’s enough. . .I can’t take this anymore?”

Perhaps you were referring to an ungodly and/or unqualified supervisor.

Was your exasperation directed at a family member who seems to be in one crisis after another. . .constantly making wrong decisions?

Is your frustration over a seemingly never ending flood of bills coming into your mailbox?

How do people respond to these troubling scenarios?

Actually, one of three ways:

First, you get in the flesh. . .and say or do things. . .you wish you hadn’t.  However, once the cat is out of the bag. . .it’s tough getting it back in.

Brother Kenneth Hagin in talking about believers once said:

“Bless their darling hearts and stupid heads.”

Sometimes I’m amazed at what comes out of the mouths of Christians.

I’m talking about people who love God with all their hearts.  People who are in church every time the doors are open.  People who will no doubt go to heaven.

But sometimes they say things that are just stupid. . .spiritually speaking, of course.
