It’s the day after. . .millions of Americans filed their Federal Income Tax Return.
Several things are stirring in my spirit this morning.
The First Income Tax Refund
Have you ever received an income tax refund? Did it make you smile? Did it allow you to pay some overdue bills or buy something special?
Just a few days ago, as I was reading what happened the day that Jesus met with the tax collector. . .the Lord stirred these words in my spirit, EVERYBODY GOT A NICE REFUND!
As I sat there. . .the words came to me again, “EVERYBODY GOT A NICE REFUND.” I said, “Lord, do you mean EVERYBODY?” He was very clear in His response. He said, “Everybody.” Now that’s exciting.
You are a part of ’everybody’ and you’ve got to know that YOU’RE IMPORTANT TO GOD. Child of God, you must let Acts 10:34 get down into your spirit. “God is no respecter of persons”. . .what He has EVER done for anybody else. . .He has to do for you!
Did you get that? What God has ever done for anybody else, He’s got to do for you or He would be a respecter of persons. If ANYBODY else ever got a NICE REFUND. you’ve got one coming too.
Now it’s important for you to study this scripture very closely. Let the truth of this passage become a part of your understanding.
"As Jesus was passing through Jericho, a man named Zacchaeus, one of the most influential Jews in the Roman tax-collection business ...tried to get a look at [him]...
“Jesus called him by name! "Zacchaeus!...quick, come down! For I am going to be a guest in your home today!"...[after dinner] ... Zacchaeus stood before the Lord and said, "Sir… if I find I have overcharged anyone on his taxes, I will penalize myself by giving him back four times as much." Luke 19:1-8 TLB
Are you seeing what I'm seeing? Jesus not only supplies people's needs, He also helps them get tax refunds. Not only that, but He is canceling debts owed to the IRS.
Get this down in your spirit. . .Jesus wants to get involved in getting you a NICE RETURN. . .even CANCELLING YOUR IRS DEBTS.
Give Yourself A Raise
Do you realize that three out of four employees overpay their taxes? That's right. The vast majority of taxpayers allow the Government to use their money for a year, interest-free.
Would you like to increase your paycheck from $50 to $200 per month? Here's how! The amount currently being withheld from your paycheck is called withholding allowance. Every employee is responsible for completing a W-4 form upon being hired and/or when changes occur in your tax situation.
Seventy-five percent of taxpayers have more money withheld than is necessary. That is why they receive that tax refund every year. They feel that somehow they are pulling one over on the Government. NOT TRUE. It's your money they are giving back to you.
If you are paying taxes every year on April 15, you are having too little money withheld and you should decrease the number of allowances that you are claiming. Consider doing the following:
1. Call the payroll office to verify the number of allowances you currently have listed on your W-4 form. Request a new form.
2. Use the worksheet on the back of the W-4 form to determine the number of allowances that you should claim so that you will not be overpaying the government.
3. In completing the form, make sure that you itemize all last year’s deductions, and include any IRA's. This will help you arrive at the proper number of allowances that you should claim.
4. Return the completed form to your payroll department and eagerly anticipate your next paycheck, which will include the increased amount that you will be taking home.
5. Use the increased take-home pay to pay off bills, or invest it in a savings program.
A Final Thought
Get God involved in your finances. He can even prompt the IRS to move on your behalf.
"I have a praise report from the front lines in Columbia. I received a letter from the Internal Revenue Service. The letter stated that the IRS owes me a refund of $230.00, plus interest from my tax period ending [three years ago]! I was so excited!
"I recently asked an accountant if the IRS would ever check to make sure you did not pay [them] too much. He said `No!’ But, if you are a believer… they will… God has His eye on my taxes... I believe… He is faithful to watch over that which concerns us and belongs to us.
"I am so grateful for the Debt Free Army material… I thank the Lord for watching over our tax returns… We are now going to start praying over all the money we give in taxes. Praise God and His faithfulness!"
These partners from South Carolina got God involved in their finances. . .they didn’t realize they had a refund coming but God did.
I want this kind of thing of supernatural intervention from God to start happening for you every day during this year.
