Timing Is The Difference Between Success And Failure

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in RichThoughts

If a quarterback's timing is off. . .he's going to have a bad day with more interceptions than touchdowns. That's clearly evident in some of the National Football League games and it was definitely true in the Super Bowl last Sunday night.

In life. . .if your timing is off. . .you can miss possibilities and opportunities for success.

Timing is critically important in life. . .and every decision you make.

Something can be a good idea. . .it can be a great idea. . .it can even be a God idea but for it to be successful it must be in God's timing.

Here are seven facts we all need to be reminded of about God’s timing.

1.      The Holy Spirit gives you the timing.

Have you ever wondered if it was the right time to make a career change. . .to ask someone to marry you. . .to present your ideas to your supervisors?

Knowing when to speak. . .is equally important to what you’re going to say.

Acts 1:7-8 in the Message Bible says:

Seize Every Opportunity In 2019

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in RichThoughts

As of Sunday, January 27th, there are 338 days left in 2019. Now, we don’t know what you’ve done differently in the first 27 days of this year. . .but we challenge you to seize every opportunity from this day forward.

I’m going to ask you four questions . . .three of them come from the book 2 Chairs. If you have not read the book we encourage you to do so as soon as possible.

We spent the first two weeks of this year discussing the book on Rich Thoughts For Breakfast. . .the calls are available at www.haroldherring.com under podcasts.

If you take them seriously, these four questions will be life changing.

Question # 1, Does God know your situation?

Question # 2, Can God handle your situation?

Question #3, Does God have a plan for your life?

Question #4, Are you maximizing the opportunities God is sending your way?

First, what does the word opportunity mean to you?

According to Dictionary.com it means:

Make Things Happen. . .Now

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in RichThoughts

I’ve got a word for you. . .if you’re believing God for success . . .it’s going to happen.

It’s not a question of if. . .but when.

I remember when my fine wife, Bev, shared a scripture with me several days ago that ignited in my spirit and strengthened my belief that . . . whatever you’re believing for. . .trusting is going to happen. . .is going to manifest.

1 Chronicles 28:20 in The Living Bible says:

“Then he continued, “Be strong and courageous and get to work. Don’t be frightened by the size of the task, for the Lord my God is with you; he will not forsake you. He will see to it that everything is finished correctly."

In this powerful verse. . .we find seven reasons that what you’re believing for. . .is going to happen.

1.      Be strong

Unlocking Your Success In 2019

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in RichThoughts

Since we began the Rich Thoughts for Breakfast outreach six years ago in January. . .we’ve had over 2,200 daily morning conference calls and 162 of those have the word success in the title.  A total of 1,566 teachings mention the word success at least once.

You would think that I’ve covered the topic rather thoroughly BUT GOD directed us to teach on it once again and from a slightly different perspective.

Let’s look at Unlocking Your Success In 2019.

1.      Decide what you want.

Psalm 119:130 in the Classic Amplified Bible says:

“The unfolding of Your [glorious] words give light; Their unfolding gives understanding to the simple (childlike).”

What Your Life Will Be Like In 367 Days?

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in RichThoughts

Tomorrow night about this time.. you will be looking 2019 in the face… so tonight … let’s think about where we want to be by New Year’s Eve 2019 … 365 days from tomorrow.

I’m not talking whether you’ll be attending a church service or not … but what will your life look like. Will you have achieved your goals? Will you be full of anticipation and expectation.

All of that hinges on how you decide to enter 2019

There are only two ways you can see what will be happening on New Year’s Eve.

First, with your natural eyes.

Second, with your imagination.

The word imagination is defined in the Merriam Webster Intercollegiate Dictionary as:

“the act or power of forming a mental image of something not present to the senses or never before wholly perceived in reality.”

Successful People Think Differently

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in RichThoughts

Someone once said, "What you think about your bring about."

Proverbs 23:7 says:

“As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.”

Successful People Think Differently. Some people think about what they’ll get when they become successful. They fantasize about the cars, electronic toys, trips and even the house they’ll live in.

Nothing wrong with dreaming. . .or seeing yourself vacationing in exotic locations.

However, if you want to be successful. . .here are 7 things you should be thinking about FIRST.

1.         Wisdom

If you want to be successful you need an insatiable hunger for wisdom.

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in RichThoughts

Who are you giving gifts to this Christmas?

Who will benefit from your generosity?

Have you made your list . . . checked it twice . . . to find out who has been naughty or nice?

Does your list include. . .your spouse , children, grandchildren, parents, brothers, sisters, pastor, school teachers, co-workers, best friends or neighbors?

Did you remember everybody on the list? Are you sure? Did you remember everybody on God's list? Yes, He has a list.

7 Things Better Than Any iToys

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in RichThoughts

This is the time of year for Christmas lists…from the youngest family member to the oldest.

As our family members grew in age. . .so do the price of their toys.

Roy L. Smith, a renowned Methodist writer of Sunday School literature, once said:

“He who has not Christmas in his heart will never find it under a tree.”

Our greatest joy this Christmas is having most of our family with us. . .including our two youngest Grand Sugars, Sophia Lee and Symphony Joy PreJean.  That makes for a very happy Mimi and Papi.

During this season. . .we want to share with you seven things better than the new drones, a talking hamster, VR (Virtual Reality Glasses and all sorts of other iToys produced by competing companies.

Here’s my list of the Seven Things Better Than Any iToy.

Practice Creating Opportunities

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in RichThoughts

Have you ever said or heard someone say, “I’m just waiting for the right opportunity.”

Before you can ever really have an opportunity you must know where it comes from.

2 Corinthians 2:12 in The Living Bible says:

“Well, when I got as far as the city of Troas, the Lord gave me tremendous opportunities to preach the Gospel.”

God wants us to use all the little opportunities we have. . .RIGHT NOW.

1 Corinthians 7:31 in The Living Bible says:

“Those in frequent contact with the exciting things the world offers should make good use of their opportunities without stopping to enjoy them; for the world in its present form will soon be gone.”

Have you thought about why God gives you opportunities?
