Walking In Surplus

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in Life Strategies

I was once guilty of what I’m about to say. . .but not anymore.

I used to speak about what I had to have to meet this or that need.  I, unwittingly, developed a need mentality. . .which was reinforced by the words of my mouth.

I can remember totaling up bills and praying for God to meet this need of $15,000 or whatever the amount by a specific date.  When the need was met. . .I breathed a sigh of relief and, of course, gave God the proper glory.

However, a moment of pure revelation came to my fine wife Bev and I. . .the day we realized that we should stop thinking and speaking in terms of needs. . and begin thinking and speaking of living in surplus.

We’ve taught several times about surplus on Sunday Nite Live.  Visit tlctoday.net and search for “surplus of prosperity” and you will find the teaching outlines.

8 Action Keys To Achieving Your Goals

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in Life Strategies

A goal is a vision of how it is . . . before it is.

In talking about goals at my seminars, rallies and church services, I’ve had a few believers question whether or not goal-setting was important or even scriptural.

I’ve asked those folks why they got saved.  Invariably, the answer is “to go to heaven.”  I then asked if they were going today. If they say, not unless Jesus comes back, I say, “If heaven is not your immediate destination, it is still your goal.”

A goal is the manifestation…the end result achieved through vision, prior proper planning, persistence and peak performance.

Clearly identify and plan your action timeline for the things on your goal list each day. . .in the six major areas of your life which are:

Imagine Your Dreams Becoming Your Reality

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in Life Strategies

It’s time. . .no, it’s past time. . .for you. . .me. . .each of us. . .to allow our imaginations to turn our dreams into reality.

Seven rich thoughts quotes and one powerful scripture.

Edmund Burke said:

“There is a boundary to men's passions when they act from feelings; but none when they are under the influence of imagination.”

Stephen Covey, the author of “The Seven Habits Of Highly Effective People,” said:

Don't Stop Sowing While Waiting For Your Harvest

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in Life Strategies

One of the absolute worst things you could do while waiting for the manifestation of your harvest. . .is to stop sowing and just wait.

Stopping breaks His blessing flow.  Tithing keeps the windows of heaven open … while sowing seed offerings gives God the measurement by which He can measure abundance back to you.

Let me make it clearer:

You either tithe or you don’t.  Tithing is not a sometimes thing.

Thinking, Feeling, And Acting Right Affects Your Health

I have heard some of the greatest preachers to ever draw a breath preach 1 Peter 2:24 with insight, passion and unparalleled anointing.

“He personally bore our sins in His [own] body on the tree [as on an altar and offered Himself on it], that we might die (cease to exist) to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed.” 1 Peter 2: 24 AMP

Most teachers focus  on “. . . by whose stripes ye were healed” but as I re-read the scripture, the part “. . . should live unto righteousness” ignited in my spirit.

I look up the word righteousness in the Strong’s Concordance and found that it’s the Greek word dikaiosynē (G1343) which means:

Testimony From Our New Year's Day Tabernacle Of Prayer

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in Life Strategies

"I sent in my prayer request and was specific.  I believed God would stop the wage garnishment for my student loan as I had applied for consolidation.  The company I was making payments to submitted for wage garnishment despite my informing them of consolidation being accepted and payments scheduled to begin early 2015.

"The company had taken 3 payments from my check already.  New Year's Eve I received a letter from my HR department simply stating "we received documentation regarding student loan and garnishment" and to call them.

That ought to make you shout HALLELUJAH!!

Christmas. . .1 Corinthians 13 Style

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in Life Strategies

Something to think about this Christmas...from someone named Anonymous.

If I decorate my house perfectly with plaid bows, strands of twinkling lights and shiny balls, but do not show love to my family, I'm just another decorator.

If I slave away in the kitchen, baking dozens of Christmas cookies, preparing gourmet meals and arranging a beautifully adorned table at mealtime, but do not show love to my family, I'm just another cook.

If I work at the soup kitchen, carol in the nursing home and give all that I have to charity, but do not show love to my family, it profits me nothing.

Don’t Let The Size Of The Task Make You Feel Small

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in Life Strategies

Have you ever hesitated…procrastinated about an assignment because it seemed such a mammoth undertaking?

1 Chronicles 28:20 in The Living Bible says:

“Be strong and courageous and get to work. Don't be frightened by the size of the task, for the Lord my God is with you; He will not forsake you. He will see to it that everything is finished correctly."

Here are seven practical things you can do when you feel frightened by the size of any task.
