Miracles Manifest Through Points Of Contact

The first time I ever heard the term “point of contact” was while watching one of Oral Roberts old healing crusades when it played on our small black and white TV.

I remember Dr. Roberts stretching out his hands toward the TV camera and asking the viewers at home to extend their faith by touching his hand on the television screen as a point of contact.

Over the years I’ve heard some men and women of God talk about a point of contact when it comes to the prayer of agreement.

I believe a point of contact is anything God instructs us to do to help release our faith.

We can say it another way. . .a point of contact provides a way for us to act on what the Word says and when we do. . .we release our faith to move the hand of God.

Our point of contact could be the prayer of faith…the laying on of hands…an act of faith that causes you to move outside your comfort zone, Holy Communion, water…a prayer cloth or anything that requires a step of faith toward the previously unknown.

A point of contact is one method we use to reach God and obey His divine instructions.

Have you ever had someone say something to you that cut you to the quick? Something that wounded you deeply even though you knew they were wrong in their assessment.

I remember such an experience and it wasn’t fun. . .it fact, it hurt very deeply. This person is someone for whom I had helped and over time had made them a substantial amount of money.

These friends had listened to a third voice. . .one that sought to advance himself at my expense. These friends assumed the third voice was correct. Even though he was wrong. . .they believed him and their perception of the events he described. . .became their new reality.

I’ll be honest . . . the things said wounded me. . .and could have caused me to become deeply offended …until I realized what the enemy was trying to do. He wanted nothing more than for me to be offended and hurt. . .thus opening myself to further and greater attacks by him.

It is not an easy task … BUT Never give place to the enemy. . .never allow him to even stick a big toe in the door of your mental thought processes. Give him no place.

Offense is a foul trick of a mean devil. Instead of falling into offense…consider it a compliment. Yes, you heard correctly. The devil attacks those who have potential for good in the Kingdom of God.

According to dictionary.com the word offense means:

“an act of stumbling; a cause or occasion of sin: stumbling block; something that outrages the moral or physical senses.”

Help Me Make It Through The Day

Have you ever said, “Please Lord, help get me through this day. I don’t think I can take much more of this.”

Perhaps you were physically tired or mentally exhausted. . .but for whatever reason. . . you’re ready to close the books on this particular day.

On a spiritual dimension. . .if you’ve felt or ever feel that way don’t say it for several reasons.

First, your words can empower the enemy to continue tormenting your day.

The Word of God tells us that our words have consequences . . . we decide whether they are for good or for evil.

Proverbs 18:20 in the Good News Translation says:

“You will have to live with the consequences of everything you say.”

Think about that. . . and the depth of impact within that verse.

7 Keys To Handling The Storms Of Life

Have you ever been in a hurricane, tornado or storm where the winds were howling and were not only frightening but dangerous and perhaps even deadly?

About a year and a half ago, Hurricane Matthew swept through our part of the world with winds between 75 and 95 miles per hour. The force of the storm was so strong it blew down two sixty foot oak trees in the vacant lot next to our property.

As I reflect on that Saturday night. . .I recall another night where the winds were howling and waves were violently slapping the side of the boat.

Mark 4:39 says:

"And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm."

These were mostly experienced sailors so you know it had to be a storm of enormous proportion.

The disciples and Jesus were crossing the Sea of Galilee when a storm began to rage. The disciples were frightened, fearful and faithless in the midst of what they perceived to be a deadly situation.

What do we do to be sure we are equipped? Here are seven things we should do when facing the storms that arise in our own life.

1.         When trouble is headed your way. . .do what Jesus did.
