10 Excuses God Will Never Accept

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in RichThoughts

Hebrews 12:12-13 in the Message Bible says:

So don't sit around on your hands! No more dragging your feet! Clear the path for long-distance runners so no one will trip and fall, so no one will step in a hole and sprain an ankle. Help each other out. And run for it!”

I started wondering why people sit on their hands and drag their feet….and realized it happens when people make excuses.

Believe me, I’ve heard all of the excuses … and some that would make you laugh if you didn’t know the person speaking the words was serious.

I believe if I set my mind to it…I could come up with some of the greatest excuses in the world.

But the real question is what does the greatest book ever written have to say about excuses.

Done And Done

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in RichThoughts

One of the most remarkable women of faith we’ve ever met. . .frequently says “done and done” when referring to the promises of God being manifested in her life.

Over the past few years, this incredibly anointed businesswoman has been attacked by the hordes of hell. . .but she has not flinched in her faith or wavered in her beliefs.

Any person with lesser faith. . .might have given up. . .but not this woman.

As she prays for breakthroughs. . .for answers. . .for financial deliverance. . .for the blessing flow. . .she will simply text me “done and done.”

The phrase stirs an image of steadfast faith. . .in the midst of seemingly impossible circumstances.  I was so stirred that I felt led to write about done and done.

22 Keys To An Open Heaven

Your Perception Generally Becomes Your Reality

Did you know that the way you perceive God can keep you from knowing the truth about Him? It’s true.

Your perception of a person, even if it is wrong, will keep you from seeing him or her as they really are. That is the reason I make this statement:

You will have the God you perceive.

If you perceive Him as a poor god, you will always think He is trying to get money from you. But when you understand He is a rich God, you will realize He is trying to get money to you not from you.

Your perception of God and His relationship to your financial status will cause you to see Him in one of two ways: He will be either Jehovah Needy or Jehovah Jireh.

Show Me The Money And Six Other Things

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in RichThoughts

Some years ago (18 to be exact), there was a movie entitled “Jerry McGuire.”

Truthfully, I’ve never watched the entire movie. . .however, I did see part of the Oscar –winning performance by Cuba Gooding, Jr., as an athlete seeking a more lucrative financial contract.

Throughout the movie, Gooding would say to Tom Cruise (Jerry McGuire), his agent, “Show me the money” which became an immediate pop culture sensation.

“Show me the money” was repeated by celebrities and ordinary people alike.

A few days ago, I was doing a search on money. . .when I came across a phrase that said “show me the money.”

I smiled and did an immediate search on “show me.”  The result of which. . .is this teaching on seven things God wants to show you.

7 Characteristics Of The Joshua Generation

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in RichThoughts

This past Friday on our Rich Thoughts For Breakfast phone call I taught “Moses is dead…but you’re not.”

Almost immediately after the call concluded . . .I knew God wanted me to expand and continue this teaching on SUNDAY NITE LIVE.

But truthfully, my first thought was “Lord, I just taught this.  What will be people think?”

I can just imagine God smiling, shaking His head and going “Really, Harold, is that what you’re thinking.”

I know there are times when we unknowingly and unintentionally cause our Heavenly Father to shake His head in amazement.

God is so good to me. . .He showed me exactly the direction He wanted this teaching to take.

Keeping Your Family Priorities In Order

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in RichThoughts

Without question, the number one. . .the highest priority in a Christian’s life is daily seeking a closer personal relationship with Jesus as Lord.

No one can build this relationship for you. You can get saved, go to church, but only you can allow the Jesus to work through you as Lord of your life.

Your spouse, if you have one, should be your second priority, not your children. A marriage companion will be with you for the rest of your life, while your children are only with you for a season.

Your children are your next priority. They did not ask to be brought into this world, and it is up to parents to provide for and nurture them until they become adults.

7 Keys To Momentum

“The prayers are working.  A Momentum has begun!”

When I read this Tweet by our friend and ministry partner Susan from Hawaii. . .it ignited my spirit.

Susan was one of the 138 Prayer Elders who joined together from seven countries to pray a FIVE FOLD BLESSING over nearly 4,000 partners of our ministry. . .on Friday, January 24th.

The word “Momentum” energized my faith and stirred an inner Holy Spirit desire for me to write about the subject.

Momentum is best defined as:

7 Ways To Possess A Surplus Mentality

Written by Harold Herring. Posted in RichThoughts

Let’s make this clear. . .from the very beginning. . .there is no scarcity in the Kingdom of God nor should it exist in the lives of any of His children.

Our Heavenly Father is a God of surplus and He wants His children walking in His good gifts.

Luke 11:13 in the Amplified Bible says:

“If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good gifts [gifts that are to their advantage] to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask and continue to ask Him!”

God never has nor will He ever want His children to live in scarcity.

Scarceness is found one time in the King James Bible and it’s in Deuteronomy 8:9 which says:

God Will Pay You For It

Good morning and welcome to Rich Thoughts for Breakfast.

If you’re discouraged . . . if you’re feeling blue . . . feeling sorry for yourself  . . . then do something for someone else.

Dr. Karl Menninger, a leader in the field of mental health, was once asked, “What would you advise a person to do if he’s on the verge of a nervous breakdown?”

The person asking the questions expected Dr. Menninger to come out with some profound psychological insight. However, he looked his questioner straight in the eye and said:

“Lock up your house, go across the railroad tracks, find someone in need and do something to help that person.”

The thing that will help every believer in the midst of a crisis is to get their eyes off their problem . . .stop talking about it. . .stop rehearsing their hurts and pains. Instead, put your focus on doing good for someone else . . . it works because it is a totally biblical principle.
