Have you had a bad day. . .or maybe even a bad day or two or three this past week?

Do you feel like nothing is going right?

Are things that you thought not manifesting as you had planned them?

Does it feel like nobody cares about what’s happening in your life?

If you get nothing else from what we’re going to say in this teaching. . .let this next sentence get deep down in your mind and in your spirit.

A couple of weeks back we taught “7 Threats To Your Success” on one of our Rich Thoughts for Breakfast calls.

The fourth threat in the teaching is:  “Ghosts, gorillas, gremlins and goblins from your past.”

From the moment the words came out of my spirit and onto the Word document. . .I knew it should be a SUNDAY NITE LIVE teaching.

I didn’t try to overanalyze . . . I just wrote down the seven G’s that we have to overcome to walk in victory. . .over our past.

As Forrest Gump once said, “Stupid is as stupid does.”

Here are seven things that make people….stupid

First, stupid people don’t have common sense. Proverbs 30:2 in the New Living Translation says:

10.  The Holy Spirit is a genius...if you listen to His voice...follow His instruction...He will make you smarter than you are.

  9.  Change your words to His words and you will change your world.

  8.  God wouldn't tell us to speak to the mountain in Mark 11:23 unless He knew our words would move the mountain.

  7.  People's perception of you will determine if you get the promotion, raise, bonus or whether or not what you say...matters.

  6.  When God gives you a big dream. . .you don't have time to sweat the small stuff.

  5. The enemy likes to remind you of your past sins even when God has forgiven and forgotten them.  Don't let him.

  4. If you make the Forbes list of the richest people...but your family is falling apart...what have you really accomplished?         

  3. You have the mind of Christ (1 Cor 2:16) so ask God to stir in you a supernatural creativity beyond your natural imagination.

  2.  How do you move from where you are to where you should be? Stimulate your mind with exciting ideas...saturate your thoughts with God's word.

Did you realize the letters which form the word LISTEN also create the word SILENT?

There’s a difference between hearing and listening?

Have you ever wondered what winners think about?

Here are seven things that winners...people just like you...think about it.

1.         Wisdom

One of the favorite scriptures of my wisdom mentor and dear friend Dr. Mike Murdock is Proverbs 4:7 which in the Amplified Bible says:

“The beginning of Wisdom is: get Wisdom (skillful and godly Wisdom)! [For skillful and godly Wisdom is the principal thing.] And with all you have gotten, get understanding (discernment, comprehension, and interpretation).”

If you want to be a winner in life you need an insatiable hunger for wisdom.

Do you need to change your diet?

I’m not talking about what you put in your body…but what you’re putting in your mind.

If you’re feeding yourself a steady strength of negative programming on TV, the internet or newspapers. . .then you need to change what you’re consuming.. . or else you’ll have to deal with mental and spiritual indigestion.

It’s time to increase your intake of things that are healthier for you.

10.  Our situation will change when we change.

  9.  Look for something good in every person you meet...and you'll find it.

  8.  Spiritual renewal is not a sometimes thing.  It’s not just an emergency solution. . .it’s a lifestyle.

  6.  When you listen more than you talk. . .you gain a good reputation. Proverbs 21:28

  5. You should never say “I’ll try.” In life you either do or you don’t. Saying “I’ll try” is either a lack of confidence or a lack of desire.

  4. Problems are delaying tactics of the enemy. He wants to keep you from enjoying the rewards and benefits God has in store for you.            

  3. If you mess up (sin), fess up (confess your sins), get up (turn yourself around) and move on (start living for Him again).

  2.  The race doesn't always go to the fastest runner but to the one who never gives up or quits.

“Tomorrow is the only day in the year that appeals to a lazy man.”  Jimmy Lyons

I don’t have a clue which Jimmy Lyons this might be but Google brought up only one and he is a singer by trade.  Regardless, this observation is powerful.

As I re-read his quote I was prompted by the Holy Ghost to see what Proverbs has to say about being lazy.

There are 16 verses in several different translations that speak directly and often forcefully about the consequences of being lazy.

Over the years, I have. . .sadly. . .had a large number of people talk to me. . .with tears in their eyes. . .about how they lost everything they owned because of bad advice from well-meaning friends and family members.

Couples who got in on the ground floor of a ‘can’t miss’. . .explosive money-making opportunity. . .at the urging of a family member or friend. . .only to watch the company go belly up. . .and their money disappear faster than an ice cube on a hot summer’s day.

Dreamers who were robbed of their dreams by the doubts of someone who’s biggest decision is whether to have next Saturday’s breakfast at iHop or Cracker Barrel. 

Listening to the wrong people. . .give unwise advice.

I could go on. . .with other sad stories I’ve heard. . .but let’s move on with seven reasons not to take their word for it.
