A goal is a vision of how it is . . . before it is.

In talking about goals at my seminars, rallies and church services, I’ve had a few believers question whether or not goal-setting was important or even scriptural.

I’ve asked those folks why they got saved.  Invariably, the answer is “to go to heaven.”  I then asked if they were going today. If they say, not unless Jesus comes back, I say, “If heaven is not your immediate destination, it is still your goal.”

A goal is the manifestation…the end result achieved through vision, prior proper planning, persistence and peak performance. 

Get a notebook in which you can keep your goals for the rest of your life.   It’s time to stop talking about your future and do something about it.

Have you watched a television series where the star of the show is seemingly always in eminent peril?

No matter how real the scene feel. . .you can know for sure. . .that the creator and writers of the television show will never kill the hero or the star. . .who plays the hero.

Just like the movies. . .you’re a star that will never defeated by the enemy.  In fact, not only will you not lose. . .you win every single time.

Here are three scriptures which should strengthen and energize your faith against every attack of the enemy.

Success is an attitude.  Success is a habit.  Success is a lifestyle.  Success is easily available to anyone who wants it...believes they can have it...works for it...never gives up and always...always trusts God...no matter what.

Success happens inside you before it ever happens around you.  There is a defining moment when you decide to take control of your own life and embrace the success that God wants you to achieve.

Age, education, money, background and childhood experiences do not matter in the face of these principles.

As I was reading Matthew 13:8,9 in the New Living Translation, something ignited in my spirit.

“Still other seeds fell on fertile soil, and they produced a crop that was thirty, sixty, and even a hundred times as much as had been planted!  Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand.”

I’ve taught and/or quoted this passage of scripture dozens, oftimes but on this particular occasion verse nine just leaped out at me.

“Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand.”

My first thought was that not everyone hearing about sowing and reaping a harvest of thirty, sixty and the hundredfold return will understand.

Some people simply are not in a position mentally, emotionally or spiritually to hear this scriptural truth about sowing and reaping.

If every believer were to accomplish everything they’ve told me they’re going to do. . .or what they say. . .God told them to do. . .we’d have a gazillion more billionaires.

No question. . .Jesus would have returned for His Bride. . .because the whole world. . .every language and ethnic group would have heard the gospel.

Why hasn’t the rapture taken place?  It’s because a large number of Christians are better at talking than planning and/or doing.

Unfortunately, sometimes we talk. . .but we don’t plan.

Vince Lombardi, the legendary coach of the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League once said:

As I listen to your phone messages, read your letters and emails, God allows me to feel your hurts and see your hopes for a better tomorrow.

Some of you have wondered either on paper or in your heart when the promises of God will be manifested in your life.

I know that delay tactics are a favorite deception of the enemy because he seeks to trip us up by filling us with doubt.

The enemy wants you to believe that salvation will never come to your family. . .but that’s not what the Word says.

Are you a thief?  Do you steal from people while eating at restaurants?

I’m not taking about silverware, napkins or anything that belongs to the restaurant. . .but whether or not you’re stealing from your server.

Malachi 3:5 in the Message Bible says:

“Yes, I’m on my way to visit you with Judgment. I’ll present compelling evidence against sorcerers, adulterers, liars, those who exploit workers, those who take advantage of widows and orphans, those who are inhospitable to the homeless—anyone and everyone who doesn’t honor me.”

If you do not tip the proper amount (18%) then you are exploiting the worker (server).

Every time I read Luke 1:46-48. . .I get fired up about the things of God.

“And Mary said: "My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for the Mighty One has done great things for me— holy is his name.”

Mary is praising God. . .giving Him all glory and honor for the great things He has done for her.

Why did God do great things for Mary?

Because she was obedient. . . when it wasn’t convenient.
