Over the years, I've heard people say that if you want to be lazy you need to learn to smile as it takes less muscles than to frown.

I can give you seven scriptural reasons why you should smile.

# 1       You’re uglier when you frown.

I have no scriptural basis for this reason. . .just the opinion of someone who has literally met hundreds of thousands of people in his life.

Have you ever been to a football game. . .where the cheerleaders were chanting “Defense.  Defense.  Push’em back.  Push’em way back?”

Perhaps you’ve watched a recent college basketball game with either the University of North Carolina Tar Heels or the Duke Blue Devils where the fans began chanting “Defense.”

Regardless of the sport, “defense” means to stop the advance of an opponent. . .if you will, an adversary or enemy.

The rising price of utilities and lack of work for those caught in the unusual winter weather is causing financial havoc in many working families. . .especially, those already under a load of debt.

Unfortunately, some families are feeling hopeless, helpless or sticking their head in the sand . . . praying their financial trouble will disappear.  The problem with having your head in the sand is what you’re leaving exposed for some creditor to kick.

Hear me now. . .with God’s help, the right financial attitude and  determination. . . you can turn your financial life around.  When you change your attitude about debt, wealth and success to what God’s Word says, then your behavior will change.

Here are six financial attitude changers that you need to grab ahold of and get deep down in your spirit and subconscious mind.

What kind of music do you listen to?

Do you prefer Gospel (urban, contemporary, southern), rock (hard, soft or classic), jazz (light, instrumental), country (pop or classic) … what’s your preference?

Regardless of the type of music you like or what format you listen to it in…you have a playlist.  And you probably have more than one.

# 2       God smiles. . .so you should too.

Numbers 6:25 in the God’s WORD translation says:

“The Lord will smile on you and be kind to you.”

I sleep between 5 and 5 ½ hours most nights…if I wake up during the night which happens way too frequently… I start praying and praising the Lord which allows me to fall back asleep…and when I finally wake up…I’m very refreshed.

However, if I begin to think about the day…I become wide awake and that’s it.

The moral of this personal story is simple…beginning your day with prayer and praise will allow you to awaken refreshed, renewed and ready to go.

Proverbs 8:17 says:

“I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.”

Those who seek me early. . .find Me.

Do you know what’s better than a good idea?  A God idea.

Nehemiah 7:5 in the New Living Translation says:

“So my God gave me the idea. . .”

Ecclesiastes 2:26 in the New Living Translation says:

Have you ever been let down?  Disappointed that someone or something didn’t come through in the clutch. . .when you needed it most?

Wouldn’t it be nice to know that you could ALWAYS count on someone to NEVER let you down?

It would also be nice to know that their support will not be deterred or determined by the intensity of the attack you’re facing?

One of the absolute worst things you could do while waiting for the manifestation of your harvest. . .is to stop tithing and sowing while you wait.

When a sower stops sowing. . .it breaks His blessing flow.

Tithing keeps the windows of heaven open  … while sowing seeds gives God the measurement by which He can measure abundance back to you.
